Just wanted to say how wonderful our meal at the George inn was. We celebrated our anniversary weekend here on the Friday night and our table was decorated beautifully with hearts and a red rose. The two young ladies who waited on us were wonderful and so was the food. A great wine list and tasteful hot food served excellently. We would fully recommend eating here. I hope the restaurant owner appreciates these two young ladies, as it is rare nowadays for this age group to be so attentive and good at their job. We would love to return soon.

Came here for Sunday lunch with family and our dog - the main reason we booked was this place looked very dog friendly - and it is. There is a lounge bar area where dogs are allowed and a separate restaurant too (no dogs). The food was fantastic, as was the service from the friendly cheerful staff. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. No rush to be finished and away. Highly recommended.

What an amazing evening meal. Partner had the hanger steak he felt like he was in a different country, I had the gammon and although a little salty it was divine, the peppercorn sauce was the best we have tasted. Massive well done.

Booked a one night stay for myself and a mate at The George to visit the Barton upon Humber Bike Night. Having booked in January, I received a phone call from the owner a couple of weeks before our stay to explain that the twin room I had booked would not be available due to renovation work taking longer than expected. He offered us a double room each at no extra cost. Talk about going the extra mile to keep the customer happy ! |The rooms were excellent, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Bed was comfortable, bathroom had a great shower. We ate at The George in the evening, great food, great value served promptly. Breakfast was prepared to order ( a refreshing change from the usual buffets which seem to be the norm these days ) |All in all, a great pub b&b offering great value. |The one overriding factor that made our stay was the people. This must be one of their busiest nights of the year, the place ( and the town ) was mobbed , yet, without exception, from the youngsters waiting on in the restaurant, the bar staff, the breakfast chef and his crew , the service was faultless, big smiles, friendly, and working their socks off. Spot on guys, Thanks.

Can’t offer any feedback on accommodation as met friends for a meal as it was recommended to us.
Lovely looking pub with good selection of ales. Nice varied seating - bar area, conservatory and patio.
Now for the 2 star review :
Limited menu.
Starter came out with main courses.
Main meals around £20 - I wouldn’t pay £10 for what we served with. The burger came with supermarket cheap buns, chips overdone, salad was just lettuce, schnitzel was not a proper schnitzel (battered chicken), fried chicken were not as good as my son has from Tesco.
The manger was lovely though. Agreed with our points and did offer a round of drinks or a discount. We took the discount and headed to a pub to have deserts, coffees and a drink on our way home ?

Stayed at the George inn for a week when on a training course for work. Its perfectly located in barton near shops and pubs in the locality.||Its a very pretty old english style inn but very modern inside||I stayed in room 4 which was a generous size, with a mini fridge (stocked with water and fresh milk), coffee machine and tea making facilities. The tv was 55" smart tv with youtube, netflix etc..||The ensuite bathroom was lovely and the shower was perfect after a days work.||I ate ther nearly every evening the food is very good and the breakfast also is brilliant.||The bar is lovely also great range of drinks and they do a quiz night on thursday nights. Also they have a lovely beer garden out back.||This is also a dog friendly hotel so expect to see a few pooches around the place.||The best thing about the hotel is the brilliant staff. All the bar staff are very friendly and will go out of ther way to help you in any way. Big mention to Robb on breakfast in the morning.. i enjoyed our chats early in the morning and was good for local tips. Also I spoke with the housekeeper on a few occassions... lovely lady always asking if i needed anything for my room.||Overall its a wonderful hotel. No surprises they won Four in a Bed.||Highly recommend staying here!!!!

A bit late writing this review following our visit in August - brought up in Barton and back to see family. Knew the George as a teenager - but almost unrecognisable after major reforms , whilst still retaining character.| Only negative was a room with ill fitting windows on two roads - which meant a very noisy night with surprising amount of traffic!! However, asked to change for the following night, and we were helped to move by the housekeeper Lyn and her husband …. Lyn was extremely helpful throughout our short stay - even insisting on “lugging” our heavy cases up and down stairs! | Enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again - just make sure we opted for a quiet room!!

Met an old friend for a quick beer and snack, pint of fish and chips, really good flavour, but some of the hand cut chips ? were too large, personally. £5.00 reasonable price for a nice snack, made a good base for a couple of beers!shall be back.
