Heartbeat fans will love it but I suggest you take your photos outside, spin around 180 degrees and go to the Moor Inn hotel instead. Goathland Hotel has rude and arrogant staff. Went twice and treated like crap twice. Don't ruin your Heartbeat experience and enjoy the friendliness and hospitality at the other establishments.

We went for a day out to where heartbeat was filmed arrived in the pub, very little room to get in the bar door as there’s a bench blocking full access!! The overwhelming smell of wet dog and something else not sure what hits you as soon as you walk through the door My husband sat at a table with a narrow bench like chair and I went to the bar to order, before I ordered the woman abruptly said if there is only 2 of you you can’t sit there I can seat 6 at that table (money grabbing) you be lucky to sit 4 grown adults at that table she said we can sit at the small table front right of the bar so my husband moved to the seating area behind the bar , I ordered the food and soft drinks a small bottle of coke and a water |The glasses smelt sour like they had been left to dry the food arrived it was not great the other 2 couples in the seating area were less than impressed we all left most of our food it was not very warm in the eating area it’s dog friendly BUT maybe not in all eating areas |The place could do with a good clean and some good old staff training on customer service seems like they were only interested in your money|Not great if you have mobility issues

Hospitality? More like hostility! ||For any heartbeat fans, don’t bother asking them anything, even if they have no other customers in the place as you’d be directed to a small leaflet that you will pay £1 for, don’t you dare sit at a table inside with your drinks and snacks and definitely don’t sit at a table they consider to be larger than your party of people, even if it’s not. The manners of this place go beyond the Northern straight talk and are just generally rude and bad mannered. || A local warned us off when the pub put a sign up saying no customers until 7pm as they were cleaning. He told us for a hospitality business they are the least hospitable but we remained optimistic and waited outside for half an hour until 7pm.||As Heartbeat fans age and the money of this TV series fades over time, this pub will struggle to remain in business if they continue to treat customers the way they do.

Visited the hotel to meet with friends who had moved back to Yorkshire. Got there early, bollards blocking entry to the car park. So off to the pay and display for a days parking fee. We went in and saw a table with a plaque saying minimum four people. We went to sit there and was told by the barman that it was for four people only. We explained our friends were on their way, but he wasn’t happy they weren’t already there. Had a couple of drinks, was astonished at the price. After about 15 minutes, we were told by the waitress that the table was for four people, and she had a coach party coming in. (Presumably they were all going to sit at that table), and if our friends weren’t there in a minute we would have to move. No attempt at playing host, and it felt like we were in the way. Our friends arrived and we had more drinks and ordered some food. Aunt Bessie yorkshire puddings, Bisto gravy and a couple of sausages, £14. If there was an award for the pub that tries hardest to go out of business, this one would get the trophy. If it wasn’t for the Heartbeat connection, it would go out of business in a heartbeat.

The staff was rude.the place looks nice on the outside but the inside looks very rundown and looks so depressing.the lady at the bar was very rude when you were looking at the merchandise and said put it back if you’re not gonna buy it and that was the end of it.the man at the bar was more rude and was saying that the drinks on the menu was not available.not recommended to anyone.the staff was not saying hello or greet you when you asked for a drink or food just looking at you like a bunch of crap.they should really look into getting new staff who are more polite and respectful not like the ones that are there right now.poor service and lack of sense of asking what you want from the bar.not nice people bunch of bullies that work there.

After a lovely walk round the village my husband me and both my 2 little chihuahuas called in for a toastie and a drink|Was so excited to take in the atmosphere and was greeted by a miserable old man who was quite rude and didn’t even talk apart from telling us how much we owed him|Tried to strike up a conversation with him but he really didn’t want to speak so a really nice customer sat next to us and told us things we wanted to know|Even she said it would be nice if the staff were more welcoming|A dog walked in and barked at my dogs which dogs do so they barked back which is normal|The manager blond lady who I’ve seen since on tv this morning programme being interviewed by Tricia Penrose was nothing like you see saying she loves her customers|She came over and asked me and my dogs to leave and eat in the car park but the other couple with the dog was allowed to stay|I am 56 year old and have never been asked to leave in such a condescending manner and bullying|Ruined my whole day and experience|Horrible staff|Needs someone to run the pub with a better attitude and personality instead of ruining peoples experience|Makes me wonder if a baby started to cry would they get told to leave as well|Left my food and drinks and won’t be going back there until new landlords take over and make it a nice experience|Felt totally shown up by a nasty individual and a miserable old man|Food

visiting the UK seemed a good place to have lunch. Wish we had read reviews before calling in. The menu is quite small, but there was sufficient choice for us. Adult portions were ok for lunch, child`s portion was pathetically small for 6.75. Should you have the audacity to want a few peas with your meal it would cost you another 3.50. Turned out to be the most expensive lunch of our holiday, with no receipt given (should be a legal requirement as it is in other countries).|It is difficult to see how 2 adult lunches, a childs meal, a pint and 2 soft drinks came to nearly 60 pounds. Staff not welcoming. AVOID!!

Good food. Staff friendly and efficient. Music in beer garden made it a great day. Thanks.
