Attention to detail would improve this place no end. Food and beer were good. Cutlery, condiments and glasses were all in need of a good clean. Ivy growing up the window outside, the view from the dinning area was overgrown. It's okay but could be so much better. Can't comment on the rooms as we only visited for lunch.

We didn't stay in the accommodation however a lot of our party did and there were no complaints.

The landlord and landlady are super friendly with an amazing giant dog. The pub is dog friendly and also full of character

Make sure you go very hungry if you are eating here. The food portions are super filling.

They cater for vegan vegetarians too chef also adapts his menu to deal with specific allergies too.

A couple of beer gardens to the side and rear are enclosed and safe fir families

Lovely little place to stay for a night or two,
Check in was a little confusing for staff.
Bathrooms could do with a bit of tlc and stairs carpet could do with a clean.
Checked out in the morning and on the landing there was an empty elf bar box and packet (vape) and could smell the vape cleaners were in and about and very friendly but left box on the floor.

Also could hear the music downstairs word for word till about 12:30am.

I never leave a silly review and never picky, just an honest one.

Visited today for the first time for dinner. We are a young family with a crazy toddle and the beer garden gave her plenty of room to run around in. The staff were all warm and welcoming and the food was delicious. We live local we will definitely return.

Stayed at the BOAR 3 nights at the end of August the room { number 8} at the back of the pub, when we had the key for the room it did not work called the bar person she came out and fiddled with it, she could not get it to work, the landlord came he fiddled with it eventually he got it to work, the room was very dated the windows were wooden and very old. The bathroom was dated as the shower over the bath, you had to play with the taps to get the temperature right, the taps had to be 20 years old, the pressure of water coming out of the shower was very weak. The beds were clean and crisp, there was a layer of dust on the woodwork in the room. I had to go to the bar and complain on day 2 to say the cleaners had not been in the room as day ones towels were still in the same place damp from where left them the night before. We stayed in the BOAR 9years ago and had a very enjoyable stay there, that’s why we came back, but after this stay we would definitely would not come back.

We didn’t stay but had an evening meal with friends. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Good wine list and very friendly staff. The Boeuf Bourguignon was particularly good

Lovely lunch today, ribs were tasty and tender, chicken gyro, a small plate, was huge and really delicious. Panna Cotta really nice too. Excellent service, efficient and friendly. We will be back, thank you.
