Boutique B&B is one way to describe this excellent family run, farm stay accommodation, which is both homely and modern. |We stayed in room 8, which was both accessible and dog friendly-it even had its own door to outside, should it be required. Non slip tiles on the floor to the wetroom which has a walk in shower. Comfortable bed & soft pillows. |Amply parking, amazingly friendly staff who are keen to make your stay run smoothly. Breakfast was very tasty, not a massive offering but certainly enjoyable and ample. Dinner is wonderful, wholesome portions and of exceptional quality. |The Grainary is a special place to stay, lots of farmyard animals to pet and converse with, a play area for children and the most breathtaking scenery. We loved our visit, sure others will too!

After getting back from a one night stay with the husband, we were already talking of when we could go back! Amazing place in such a nice setting. Can not fault anything. From arriving to leaving, the staff were fantastic, the food was amazing, our room was immaculate and the views were beautiful! We’ll definitely be returning and with having the park and facilities for kids, think we’ll bring our little girl along too! Thank you for a lovely stay!

My partner, two sons (aged one and two), and I stayed this weekend. The location and hotel were beautiful. Our children loved it. The food and staff were five-star; I cannot praise this place enough. We will definitely return. Thank you to everyone, especially for catering to our two little ones.

Had a lovely stay at The Grainary. The location is ideal for a relaxing and quiet stay. Plenty of sheep pigs amongst others to see. The view from the dining room is lovely.

The room we had was well laid out and had a wonderful large bed. However the one small wardrobe was too small for a week’s stay; but managed. The bathroom was very clean and laid out well; the shower was amazing; and could stay in it for hours. The TV was a reasonable size; and had Netflix and Prime.

The Breakfast was nicely cooked and plentiful. The dinners were mostly cooked well, I could highly recommend the beef pie. Did have an issue with one meal, which was sorted.

The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much, and were very polite. All in all a lovely hotel to stay. Would highly recommended.

My stay at The Grainary was nothing short of fantastic. The room (Room 2 King) with bathroom was lovely. I liked the cookies and tea selection provided in-room. The quirky names on their toiletries like Good Hair Day or La La Lagoon made me smile. The view of the farm animals and moor from my window was therapeutic. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. Great staff service. Beautiful farm animals.

Slight downside is its location. It is a short drive from Whitby but I did not drive so cabbing in was double the charge as cabby needed to factor in driving back without a passenger. However I was so fortunate to meet one of the family, Bryony, who happened to have a friend Tom with her on the day I checked out. Tom drives a cab. Although he was not on duty, he was very nice to transport me to Scarborough Station and I only had to pay a 1-way fee. Thanks, Bryony and Tom!

On the whole, my experience was very relaxing and therapeutic and even if I had to pay for expensive cab fare both ways, I feel this accommodation is worth it.

Note: this review is almost a year late (I visited last spring) but now that I finally got down to reviewing my trip in UK, this review is well-deserved. I hope the transportation issue has been resolved.

Everything was perfect, the surroundings are beautiful. Lovely hotel, food was lovely. Only downfall is the fact you need to pay extra for dogs but you get nothing extra for the dogs. Other hotels I've stayed in you get blankets, dog bags, treats etc in the rooms. So for the price you pay for dogs it's not worth it. But overall, the thing we loved the most was the animals. Thanks for the stay x

Just returned from a fabulous three nights stay with our energetic Collie-cross doggo at The Grainary, and I have to say it was the best cheeky little break we've had for ages. Approximately twenty minutes drive from Scarborough town centre set in a working farm with beautiful views. A very dog friendly accommodation with lovey staff who all seem to genuinely want to make sure your visit is perfect.
Compliments to the cooks breakfast and dinner...the food was fantastic! The room was very clean and comfortable with a door accessing the grounds - perfect for night time wee wees! However, in the height of summer, it would be rather hot (air con may be a consideration for future investment)
We have already decided to return to The Grainary very soon 😁
