This is the worst place I have lived since I came to England. I couldn't believe the service! So poor even dogs would feel the pain! The staff just don't care to address whatever we asked for. ||||There were a couple of nails that stuck out of a broken cupboard which were very visibly a danger to anyone let alone a family with kids. I expressed my concerns to the hotel caretaker! The caretaker didn't care and did nothing for the whole two weeks we stayed there despite being prompted on more than four occasions.||||The shower was temperamental without hot water most times. If the hot water decided to come at all, it usually came after running the shower for at least ten minutes. ||||You'd have to get in the shower as soon as the hot water came otherwise you'd miss it because it only came for a few minutes before it turned back to cold. ||||The shower door was one of the sliding type. It was a hazard to my kids and I was worried sick every time it was shower time for fearing the door falling off the rail and hurting them. ||||The carpet is worse than anything I've seen in my life! I couldn't believe this hotel was allowed to operate for business with all these environmental hazards! The carpet smelt like a doghouse rug. It was a trip hazard with folds all over the place. ||||It's terrible! I wouldn't even recommend at all. It should be shut down. ||||It's very sad that Crawley Borough Council uses this place for temporary accommodation without being concerned about the wellbeing of people living there.

Great location near the Crawley train stop and High Street commerce area. Staff were nice and welcoming. The double room left much to be desired. It was very basic: only a ceiling light above the bed, no bedside or desk lamps, old curtains without horizontal blinds or a sheer curtain, no bathroom mirror or towel rod/hook, and the sink light kept flickering. The bathroom was large for the UK, and the water nice and hot. The ‘complimentary breakfast’ consisted of a prepackaged croissant and fruit bar and a kid’s size orange juice box. Since I was just passing through for a night, it was ok. I likely won’t return though.

My parents and me & my husband booked 2 rooms to stay overnight to break up our journey. It was basic however the room was large, clean and the beds were comfy. I could use the shower in the morning as the shower head was black. In my parents room it was fine. But we were in a rush so had to wait til I got home rather than wait for this to be rectified.

We wanted a cheap B&B for before a flight from Gatwick. This place was . Our room was basic and clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very basic - carton of fruit juice, breakfast bar and a package croissant - but it was cheap enough not to cause a problem. Just gave us an excuse to get a meal at the airport.||Just the sort of place we like to stay in before flying. We looked out onto the car park - it was quiet. Apparently they do holiday parking as well.||The man on the front desk was friendly.

I have been staying at the Grange, Crawley three times a year for around three years. I am a seasoned traveller around the world and have experienced every class from the worst to the very best 5* hotels. The grange is a 3* and does a very good job of supplying what you expect in that classification. The rooms are clean and tidy and well serviced. There is a very new extension where the rooms are truly superb. The food I have eaten there, both breakfast and dinner, has been of a very high standard and unbelieveable value. The staff have been most courteous.
I am left to wonder whether two of the previous reviewers are describing the same hotel. Please feel free to believe them and don't book the Grange ... more likely not to be full when I need my room there.

Stayed here for one night.. Night and day staff are legend's.. Cant fault these guys..||||Surrounding area is great, close to Crawley town centre and many restaurants and bars.||||||The hotel is generally very clean and bright..||||Now for the negatives: TV remote did not work. I feel for £49 for a double the TV remote should work.||||The water that ran from the shower was more warm than hot, however this might be down to safety issues. I like really hot water. ||||Walls are quite thin.. So you can really hear your neighbours if they speak loud.||||apart from these things.. all good. ||||Shame about the remote though.. stuck on channel 4 + 1.. shame..

The web site talks glowingly of the hotel set in its own grounds which is very misleading as it's just a scruffy concrete car park. A few dubious people hanging around raised some concerns but friendly guy on reception and room seemed OK. On the positive side, the room was clean and the bed comfy. However, only three pillows for two people, although we got an extra when are asked, only three milks and no teaspoon. A screaming baby across the corridor kept us awake all night and worried me in case something was wrong but no phone to ring reception. No bar, no restaurant, no cooked breakfast, just a pain au chocolate, small orange juice and an Alpen bar bought by them from Asda and delivered at night after we'd gone to bed. No chance of wifi in the rooms. I suspect they take asylum seekers or homeless people given the appearance of the place. You can't grumble at the price but be prepared and don't book more than one night.

Now I know that I should be great full at being given somewhere to stay after being made homeless through no fault of my own but this place is an utter disgrace! ||Once my lift had left I sat on the filthy bed, in my filthy room & cried my eyes out ||I got picked back up the next day as I couldn’t cope with staying one more night. ||I would literally rather live on the streets than stay in this place. I felt like I’d been given a punishment & condemned to hell. ||I am begging people to NOT stay here. I still feel traumatised 2 days later. I wouldn’t even let my dog stay here. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen anything like it in all of my life. This is not a 3 star establishment. It’s a complete dive.
