This was our third stay at Grooms Quarters- and it suits us down to the ground. The garden is lovely and the house is spacious - particularly the bedrooms. |It is in a lovely spot with walks from the house through beautiful countryside. It is 10 mins to Alton Towers and 15 minutes to Sudbury hall. |Anne is very friendly and pleasant - and it is easy to make arrangements with her. |Thank you.

Gorgeous scenery and a beautiful house. Plenty of space, comfortable and warm. We were a party of 5 adults and a 7 yr old child and we all loved it. |Ann, the owner is very nice and helpful and left us home made brownies and a bottle of wine plus a huge basket of logs to use on the wood burner in the evenings. |The beds are very comfortable and the bedding and towels are luxurious. The kitchen is extremely well equipped too. |You have to drive a little for restaurants or be prepared to walk but it’s not a problem.

Accommodation was wonderful, had everything you could need well equipped and home and kitchen was spotless. Loved the peacefulness there and was great for our family and dog too.||||Ann was such a lovely lady, the goodies were much appreciated thank you x||||Was spacious, upstairs largest bedroom was huge the bed was the most comfy bed I have slept on so peacefully ! Front room cosy with log burner and great views from all windows too. Had two upstairs bathrooms with showers and downstairs toilet too. lovely outdoor area very nice tables and chairs and had choice of where to sit outside too. Would be perfect for stargazing on a dark sky night. ||||Loads to do from area, 10 mins to Alton Towers and only hour and half drive should you wish to go right to top of peak district otherwise other drives a lot less.||||Would definitely recommend and come back so thank you Ann for sharing your home with us !

Had a lovely weekend away here with my family (+ dog) after lockdown measures were eased. Beautiful house in a beautiful location - very picturesque. The master bedroom is absolutely beautiful, it has its own balcony doors which look out over the front of the property. The beds are huge and very comfortable too! The kitchen had everything we needed and Ann let us use the BBQ too which was great (just remember to take your own coal). Lovely outside dining area where we spent a lot of our time eating, chatting and playing games. We took our own games but there were lots of games already in the lounge too including rapidough (a kids game but very fun!) and trivial pursuit. The dining room table can turn into a pool table however there wasn't enough room to play it properly - perhaps it could be moved to the master bedroom as that has ample space!||||Just down the drive there is a lovely walk near a lake that looks like something out of a fairy tale! If you keep walking along the lake it becomes a bit of an adventure but it is fab - it felt like it was never ending. We even found a rope swing! We also went to Tittesworth Water which was 30 minutes drive from the property. Be warned, the drive is beautiful but fairly difficult, lots of narrow roads and very hilly. ||||We are planning on coming back in the winter, as it is a perfect mid-way point for our family to meet. Perfect!

This accommodation was beautiful. Was able to fit 8 of us. So quiet and peaceful, just what we wanted for a getaway from the city. Relatively close to the different activities we wanted to do. We were lucky enough to have wonderful weather when we were there. The brownies and wine we received on our check in date were delicious. Ann was so friendly and welcoming and showed us where the barbecue was. The inside was so homey and comfortable especially with the fire place. The surrounding area was just stunning and watching the sunset was just beautiful. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone.

We have just returned from our stay at Ann's place, but wish we could have stayed longer. We booked the cottage for 2 couples & 2 dogs and were pleasantly surprised on arrival at how homely it was, and how beautiful the local area is. ||||There is a comfy snug living area downstairs with wood burning fire, and a good sized kitchen. Upstairs there are 3 excellent sized bedrooms (2 double, 1 twin) and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a real wow factor! ||The cottage is quite remote and has gorgeous views from every window. Friendly sheep graze in most of the surrounding fields, but there was a private paddock & lawned area for the dogs to roam safely. ||||Ann lives next door and was on hand to answer any questions. She had also baked fresh brownies and left a bottle of wine in the fridge before we arrived - much appreciated! ||||||There are plenty of walks locally, and/or tourist areas within 15-20mins drive. We loved kicking our muddy boots off and coming home to the old coach house for a post-walk cuppa & board games in front of the fire. I imagine this place would be idllyic in the winter. We'd certainly love to come back one day!

Thankyou Ann we had the most fantastic stay, Immaculate and really well equipped with everything you need even wine and brownies yum!, had great wifi just everything you need home from home, beautiful views lovely and peaceful, fantastic garden for dog to explore. Great stay we will be back xx
