We have been a group of 25 staying over the weekend at the hotel. It was a beautiful experience: hotel is lovely, clean; the personnel is friendly and caring; the rooms were great. The food was a culinary ecstasy - most amazing both for vegetarians and meat/fish eaters. The chef and the kitchen crew are simply amazing. We can't stop talking about the food. Super grateful for an amazing experience and will definitely come back again.

Lovely venue only spoilt for me by their horrid Double Dutch tonic, the taste overpowers the taste of the gin, leaves a peculiar unpleasant aftertaste. Venue OK but stick to the wine offering...odd selection of beers as well, probably OK if you are a fan of craft beers otherwise stay clear. Nice seating and loos though.

Went to the hotel for a club meeting. Nice building, car park nearby, very central to town and open to non-residents - but watch what you buy at the bar! £3.40 for a bag of roasted peanuts? Ouch!

We've been coming here for a few years, on and off, as we have business nearby. We've seen the hotel change and develop over the years, including some slightly ropey times when it seemed to be staffed by inexperienced youngsters. Recently we stayed in a premium double room and thought it was very good: spacious, stylish room, big comfortable bed, good attention to detail with high end complimentary tea, decent toileteries, great (good pressure) rainfall shower, etc. Food was great too, including vegan. This is a real market town inn, so it does get busy with all ages; but you also get a feel for the bustle of local life (including a very good pop-up bakery). Good to see this historic hotel so well managed and at the top of its game. (ps. could make a bit more of its connection with Thomas Hardy and Shaston)

Lovely spacious room, generous bath and large comfy bed (rm 5)||Lots of space for drinks/dining/relaxing. Pleasant and helpful service. ||Parking tricky but discovered that the daily charge in nearby car park was refundable via settling up bill for food/beverages.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The different areas (bar, restaurants, terrace) are very inviting to visit and stay for some time. Also lots of friendly local people use the bar / restaurant for their daily meetings with others; all in all it feels very comfortable and homely. If ever I will return to Shaftesbury I definitely would choose The Grosvenor Arms again.

Very happy with every aspect of our one night stay at The Grosvenor. The only negative would be the lack of on-site parking, which is a little inconvenient. However, we were reimbursed by the hotel for the cost of the nearby carpark so this is a small point. Otherwise, thank you for a lovely stay and delicious dinner.

Been here a few times mainly for drinks. Cocktails primarily, Espresso Martinis always bang on, decent daiquiri too.

Had the pleasure of being served by Will, he was attentive and had a nice chat. Aubergine Schnitzel was amazing.

Warm, cozy environment and would recommend.
