Stayed for just one night prior to visiting RHS Rosemoor. It was very busy with an evening event on site as well as it being a lovely summer evening. However the staff still managed to look after us in a professional manner and without a reservation found a place for us in the bar for dinner. We had risotto and orzo and both dishes were excellent. Breakfast was great for anything cooked , less good for those who wanted fruit/porridge or a lighter meal , however the staff did their best to accommodate us. Our room was spotless, modern and quiet despite it being so busy on site . Overall all very good. We managed to park onsite no problem.

Met some friends for a spot of lunch. The meals were very reasonable and there's plenty of choice. I had pie of the day, which was very tasty, and my wife had Beer battered Cod, which she really enjoyed. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The village itself is very pretty and in a lovely location. Well worth stopping for a bite to eat! Plenty of parking around the Hotel.

The place is clean and fresh and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. The only criticism is that staying for 6 nights they had no housekeeping, which I feel is poor. But when I asked for fresh towels and cleaned the cups and glasses, they were more than happy to oblige. Also, I feel a 1.1/2 hour breakfast time would be for more flexible than just an hour. But the bottom line is I will definitely go again.

A gem of a pub in rural Devon. I spent the night while cycling from Ilfracombe to Plymouth. The owners and staff were wonderful - they had a place to securely store bikes. The room was clean, comfortable and good value for the price. In the pub, they’ve got an excellent selection of local beers and the food in the restaurant was delicious with lots of locally-sourced options. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

I had stopped here before in the lovely peaceful area of North Devon. I only had coffee that day, at the Half Moon. But I liked the feeling of the lovely old building and the atmosphere and energy were equally to my liking . Coffee was good too....I stopped again today, and had the roast dinner, excellent meal, cooked to perfection, and an ample portion. The girls on service were lovely, and attentive too . The restaurant room is special, just naturally lends itself to the tranquil vibe of the whole building. I am quite hard to please normally, (I was a head breakfast chef in a 5 star hotel in a previous life). Great experience, highly recommend.

Couldn't fault this inn. Friendly staff, lovely restaurant with excellent evening meals and good breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfortable and a good size. Stayed one night as travelling through on Devon Coast 2 Coast bike ride.

Such a beautiful village pub serving excellent food and great beers that also has rooms that are not only comfortable but homely. A very pleasant stay was had recently and will be again. Parking is a tad limited but that is purely due to its location. Oh and it can fill very quickly with locals.
