Lovely village pub with friendly, efficient staff and a nice atmosphere. Great for a short stay too, with decent rooms at reasonable prices. It can be very noisy up to midnight, but if that's a problem then don't choose to stay in a pub! Super quiet after that though. Great location for exploring Mount Edgcumbe and the Rame Head peninsular.

We stayed at The Lookout for two nights, just around the corner from the Halfway House Inn and can honestly say that our experience can't be faulted. The accommodation was spotless, warm and welcoming and the view across the open bay was awesome. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I wasn't sure about eating at the pub being a celiac, but to my relief there were plenty gluten free choices so we ate there on both nights. The food was varied, fresh and delicious. The pub has a great relaxed atmosphere and is clearly well liked by the locals - always a good sign! We hope to return again soon 🙂

Weekend away with my wife and baby stopped in here for a meal. Unfortunately my beer was knocked into my wife's meal as a mistake, staff were prompted and they came over and cleared away the meal and offered a replacement meal and drink. When it came to settling the bill the meal and drink although both full and untouched were still charged. No forewarning was given and it was made to seem that a replacement meal and drink were on the house. This wasn’t the case. When I contested this two members of staff came back with a bad attitude. Very poor customer service. Won’t be coming here again.

Possibly the worst breakfast ever.
Sausage was hard , over cooked horrible. Who bought that and thought it was fit to serve.
Scrambled egg was not scrambled it was mixed.
Button mushrooms tasteless.
Hoggs pudding like rubber.
Asked for runny egg for wife. It was like rock.
Lots of staff and the boss walked past not one asked how food was. Do they care?
Staff seemed pleasant but untrained in customer service. Venue was brilliant such a shame it isn’t well managed, cannot blame the staff it is a management and training issue.

Love coming here..the food is always top notch 👌

Although today I wasn't too happy..
As we were coming from Plymouth, we were a little late to our booking due to traffic but called up en route to let them know we were running behind, out of courtesy. Didn't expect to be guilt tripped by the manager about it on arrival, and then felt rushed to order.
Traffic can't be helped but customer service can.
Left a sour taste..

Basic accommodation. Poor fitting curtains, mould on bath sealant, damaged basin surround, noisy floors, poor sound insulation. Evening meal portions small and fish overcooked. Didn’t get any breakfast as service did not start until 9 am too late for our onward travel. Customer service very poor and manager unpleasant and unhelpful.
