Stayed in room 122 which was the last room along the corridor. Spacious room, double bed and single bed and reasonably sized bathroom. Room was very clean. On arrival we were offered a room on a higher floor but as my friend has some mobility issues due to a knee operation and the steps were steep, we stayed where we were. Mattress on the bed wasn’t very firm. As the fire door in the corridor was close to our room, it made it very cool (bathroom warmer than the room) and it seems windows are only single glazed. There is a generator of some sorts which you can hear when it powers up (every 15 mins). Didn’t eat at the hotel, breakfast was offered at £12.95 but got nice, cheaper breakfasts from independent cafes. Staff we had interaction with were friendly and helpful (remote to our TV didn’t work but was replaced quickly and without issues by a member of staff). Bar area and restaurant was very busy, clearly a popular place for both drinks and food.

Great location and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful if they tried!
The room I stayed in was definitely adequate with a large bathroom, flat screen TV and hot drink making facilities but the decor could of done with a bit of TLC.
I would definitely stay here again though as the food and atmosphere was fantastic.
Also free parking available around the back of the hotel which is a bonus.

Visited Harboro for New Years Eve. Promised to be a great night - something different with Bollywood music, Irish dancing and bagpipes. On arrival the pub was heaving. We queued for 40 minutes, but the food was very good. When the Irish dancers came on a steward asked us to stand back and form a tunnel so they could dance from the new build through into the main pub. There were not enough staff to relay this message and most people rushed through, blocking the dancers in and meaning a lot of people behind couldn’t see them. The same thing happened when the bagpipes started. I think that too many tickets were sold and health and safety guidelines compromised. Also there were not enough staff for crowd control or to keep the toilets clean.
I think it was a great idea which, with a few changes, could really be a good night out.

We stayed here as we were visiting the Food Festival. We had stayed before and the landlord remembered us. There is good WiFi. Very. Friendly staff allowed us to early check in and put stuff in their fridge. We had a good laugh with the landlord and waitress at breakfast. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with cereals and toast if wanted. We were in room 207 which is up two flights of stairs and as the hotel has no lift is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. We wanted dinner on the Sunday night but they close at 5pm however we were offered plates and cutlery if we wanted to order in a takeaway which we did. The Chinese (I think it was called Mama’s) two doors away is to be recommended.

Went for a Boxing Day meal for a pre booked table of 6. Was told when ordering food there would be a 15 - 30 minute wait.
We waited over an hour to be then told they were very busy and the food orders were taken longer than usual. We waited for another half an hour to be told our meals would be at least another 30 minutes, which by now would make it a 2 hour wait!
Decided to leave and cancel the order. A complete shambles and ridiculous amount of time to be expected to wait.
Should also add they were only taking pre booked tables and no walk in's, so fail to see how they were so ill prepared.
Won't be back.
Avoid.

Many aspects of the Harboro are very good, and I, and my father before, have been loyal customers for over 50 years. But, I am increasingly angry and fed up with how long it can take to get served at the bar in the afternoon. Regularly, there is no one behind the bar for several long minutes because the management leave just 1 member of staff to manage the bar, check guests in, show people to their rooms and God knows what else! I've seen numerous would be customers leave because they can't get served and, frankly, I'm losing the will to live as I've just been waiting for nearly 10 minutes to get served.

Bar is very good and if you like Indian food ordered at the bar, delivered direct to your table then the place for you as absolutely delicious. Very friendly place. That said if you are thinking of staying in the Hotel then think carefully. My room smelt damp, had only a high level window onto the corridor and although it had a blind when you turn over in bed the PIR picks you up and turns on the corridor light so it flashed constantly throughout the night. Bed linen was marked and to be honest looked dirty. Will not stay again but will use it as a pub if I return to Melton.

A lot of the reviews on here are for the pub and food, which I cannot comment on - as I didn’t eat or drink here. I did stay over though… before I get in to that, I have to state - I found the staff brilliant and really friendly. I did not enjoy the stay however.||Before considering staying here, ponder the following questions:||Do you like being woken up every hour by external noise because the bedroom window can’t be closed?||Do you like the idea of staying in a room with paper thin walls which enable you to hear your neighbour having their morning dump in so much audible detail, it’s almost like they are sat next to you? ||Do you like the idea of being unrelentingly itchy because the room is grubby and hasn’t had a deep clean since it was fitted in 2002? ||Surely you want to stay in a room that has stains on the walls and floor, that closely resemble a tikka masala? ||No? How about a carpet that has an underfoot crunch to it as you walk to the bathroom? ||Do you like the idea of a very odd smell, possibly a small gas leak in your bathroom? ||Do you like sleeping on a bed that is like laying on pea gravel in a sack? ||Do you absolutely want the guarantee of the worst nights sleep you’ve had in years? ||Answered yes to any of the above? |Then this my friends, is the place for you!||The restaurant and bar might be fine but Seriously, don’t stay here.
