Harbour Inn Carnlough ( opened 17.04.25). Feedback: 21st April 4pm. Late afternoon lunch: Fresh cod with chips and mushy peas. Fresh burger with salad and fries. No desert. Drinks: Diet Coke and a virgin Mocktail. Americano and Latte. Price: £59.00. Food rating: 6/10. service: 4/10. Main issues: Very slow service. 5 staff individually served us, not knowing what previous members of staff asked. Coffee came in 3 parts, coffee first as staff forgot the spoons and then had to go away and get the milk. We were given the wrong drinks. Payment: 2 Staff said they didn’t know what an American Express card was. New surrounding: 8/10. Lighting very poor. A lovely ambiance. Staff very friendly, but not experienced. Restaurant manager (female) very friendly and attentive. Nice touch: A table card with our name on it. Would we go back? Possibly in 3 months when teething problems are sorted out.

We booked the restaurant for Fathers day and arrived at the time of the booking. We were seated at a very cramped table for 5 people. Fortunately the couple beside us left shortly after we arrived and were able to extend our party to use their tables otherwise the space given would have not been very comfortable. We ordered our meal which unfortunately didn't arrive for at least 40 mins. We kindly asked the waitress if she could check on our meal. She returned to say it was being plated up. When it arrived, none of the meals were warm. We did not mention it to the waitress as we didn't have time for meals to be sent back. The meal itself was quite nice, although maybe a better selection of vegetable could be offered than just carrots and peas. We all felt the portion of veg was small. The desserts were nice however I ordered coffee after my dessert which didn't come but we were still charged for.

Went today for lunch. Ordered bacon chop with cabbage, mash and parsley sauce. The chop was so tough I could hardly cut it let alone chew it, the cabbage was scarce and boiled to death, the parsley sauce had morphed into what looked like mustard sauce and the overall dish was so salty I couldn't eat any of it. So disappointing in such a lovely location 😔

Went for my birthday for a Sunday lunch with the family. Lovely friendly staff, food was plentiful and delicious, though I do prefer my roasties to be well done and crunchy!|No issue in asking for more gravy either!||Place looks lovely, got a quick tour by who I presume was the GM, again polite gentleman. ||Looking forward to getting a drink up here sometime in the future.
