Great place to stay, I have to stay overnight when I deliver to the north in my transit van - parking it was good. The village is nice, went for a longish walk - very pretty area with nice old church next door. Room was great, dinner was great (steak and ale pie), breakfast great - just ordered (see pic). Excellent friendly service ( I don’t usually write reviews). Got VAT invoice no problem - will def stay here again x.
I sell hand made art exhibition panels for galleries schools and colleges by the way ‘Connect Exhibitions’ - if anyone is interested x

Great pub and great gastro pub food. Staff friendly, professional and attentive. Food not cheap but still great value for money - delicious and the ingredients are top notch. Always look forward to decadent lunch, when I should really be at work...

We were wet and cold when we visited. We both opted for pie, vegetables and mash.

By far, this is the best selection of vegetables we’ve had on a dish and all beautifully cooked.

The pie wasn’t bad either.

We can honestly say it’s the best meal we’ve had for a long time. Well done guys!

Group Christmas meal, very prompt service, all of us were served at the time from preorder.
Lovely generous portions, the food was excellent and hot. Lovely staff and surroundings.

I went with my family for a meal early afternoon. Two of us had the tomato tagliatelle and it was just tagliatelle, sauce - which didn't appear to be freshly made - and a few mushrooms. No cheese, no offer of Parmesan. This cost £23, a meal which probably cost £3 to make. My husband had a vegetarian Sunday lunch and he said it was bland and there wasn't enough potatoes. The bowls of vegetables were ample but very crunchy and not to everyone's tastes. A small coke was £3 and the total cost for seven main meals, three desserts and six drinks was £197! The service was slow and the staff were inattentive.
We didn't leave a tip and we won't be going again. My mum and I went home very hungry!

My partner and I came here on a Friday evening to celebrate his birthday. Was very busy when we arrived. The staff were attentive, happy and the service was exceptional. We both ordered steaks, he had porterhouse and I had sirloin. Both cooked to perfection. Came with crispy onion rings, homemade chips, flavourful mushroom and tomato. We will definitely be visiting again. Oh Forgot to mention the delicious dessert apple crumble my partner had and the vanilla custard i had to have some!!

We popped here on the off chance and have to say, if we lived locally we would be here all the time! The staff were absolutely wonderful, the welcome was fantastic and the food was divine. Thank you so much for looking after us. Couple from Cambridgeshire.

We had Sunday lunch there last week with family. My daughter and I had the roast beef, my wife the pie and my son in law the roast chicken. The table service was very good and the table/ambience excellent. So far as the food is concerned my wife and son in law were very pleased with their meals but the roast beef was very fatty, some 50% of my meat was lumpy fat. When I gave this feedback I was told that it depends on the joint the chef receives from the butcher.....! What at that price! Not acceptable to be honest. At £30 for two courses the price point is very high and I would have expected much better so far as the meat quality is concerned. At £8.95 the deserts are over priced. Overall disappointing and a pub I believe taking advantage of current times.
