Possibly the best roast I've ever had, and I am a fussy b. Everything was done to perfection, the staff were really accomodating and on the ball, and it was very reasonably priced. I loved that there was a small version on the menu as I so often don't finish a massive roast, or stuff myself and feel ill! The small version is perfect if you don't have a massive appetite, or want to save room for sides and desserts. Whoever the chef is, never let them leave!

There is plenty of parking, and the beer garden is also really nice, surrounded by trees, plenty of both sunny and shady spots available. They don't serve food outside but we sat out there and ordered from there and they just called us in when the food was ready.

TLDR: LUSH, thank you, very glad we came today and will be back!

We’re not from the area and wanted somewhere to stop for a quick bite after visiting Blean Nature Reserve. And what a hidden little gem this pub was! The staff were very accommodating and friendly, especially as we hadn’t booked. We ended up all getting a Sunday roast with dessert, and I think it’s the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had! We even had atmospheric piano music playing while we ate. They are super dog friendly, which was a massive bonus for us. The dogs even got their own pigs in blankets. I'm vegetarian and normally hate the veggie roast options, but the vegan wellington was out of this world! I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Absolutely blown away by the roast dinner at The Hare at Blean — hands down the best I’ve had in a long time. The lamb, beef, and chicken were all cooked to perfection, full of flavour and beautifully tender. The roast potatoes were spot on: perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft, fluffy goodness on the inside. The gravy tied everything together — rich, full-bodied, and absolutely gorgeous.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff (along with the lovely owner) were genuinely delightful — friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. I’m already planning my return visit to try their Wednesday steak night. Can’t wait 😋

Firstly, the owners are so lovely! We stopped by for lunch and were so well looked after and kind of felt like we had just popped round to a friend’s house! The food/atmosphere was excellent and versatile - the homemade pizza bread on the sandwich was incredible. You can tell it’s a family run establishment with passion and good quality control for what is on offer. A new local spot for us and highly recommend!

Afternoon with music by Jamie Haselgrove. Rotisserie chicken and sides courtesy of Mathew was both tasty and plentiful. A lovely experience. We will be back.

Come out with The Mini Red Arrows Stunt Team for our monthly meet up and booked the steak night which is the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month and it was amazing. Shared the Tomahawk with one of the team, had the dough balls and 2 desserts and my god it was fantastic. The chimmichurri sauce was to die for, we will be back and with the Seastay team next time 💙

After seeing the sharing roast on social media, decided to book. After talking with the owner,Matthew about the Sunday roast and especially about the attention taken over roast potato prep,on a previous visit we had high expectations. OMG we weren't disappointed. Without doubt the best roast we've ever had. Everything is to die for and the roast potatoes are absolutely amazing and worth the visit alone. Be warned though go hungry as you get more than enough.
The staff are fantastic and really friendly and the atmosphere was great with a pianist playing.
Can't recommend this place enough, but booking would be recommended on a Sunday. Will definitely be going back for the steak night in the future.
