On arrival my sister who had booked the Inn, was informed that the heating was broken in the rooms but they had placed a heater in each room. The room was spacious and the convector heater warmed the room very quickly. The bathroom was large but freezing. The shower was a handheld one attached to bath taps. Getting the temperature right was difficult. They could have done with a floor standing cupboard in there as limited space on small shelf over sink to put wash bags. Outside there are seating areas but in the summer I am assuming it could be noisy as kids play equipment in the garden is opposite. We ate in the pub restaurant in the evening and the meals were very good, my husband asked for his carrots to be cooked more, and fresh ones were quickly done. When my sister booked on booking.com she assumed that breakfast was included. She opted on arrival to book the large breakfast for us all at 9.50 a head. When we went for breakfast, the chap in charge that morning had only set the table for two instead of four, yet he was the one who said to me when I gave my car details that my sister had booked us in for a large breakfast! This meant our 8.30 breakfast was delayed. Breakfast was supposed to consist of 2 rashers of bacon, a sausage, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown and toast! The egg was either fried or scrambled . My husband got 1.5 rashers of bacon, there was half a tomato, the mushrooms were thinly sliced. We got one half of a slice of toast each! There was orange juice and tea/ coffee included. This did not represent a large breakfast from other places we had stayed in previously. Had breakfast been better it would have received a 5 rating.

I recently visited the restaurant for the Hawkenbury steak night and was certainly not disappointed.

Myself and my girlfriend were the only two in the restaurant, we received excellent service from the lovely staff.

We ate the tomahawk steak which came with a complimentary bottle of red or white.

I would 100% recommend this lovely restaurant to anyone

This is a review for the bar restaurant as we didn't stay. We were staying nearby and dropped in for a meal and a drink. They are very dog friendly, which was great for us. The lady at the bar was incredibly helpful and made us really welcome straight away. This is a proper old fashioned venue where the owner and staff go out of their way to be hospitable. Food was traditional pub fare, well cooked and tasty. Had a great night. Recommended.

They had a cat walking around in the restaurant, which nearly tripped my daughter up . My daughter had the ham , egg, and chips which was very cold and chewy . Mine and my wife's meal were very basic, not a lot of flavour. It was in the middle of nowhere. Overall i would not come back again.

Great place to stop on the way to/from ferry ports/chunnel station. Accessed by some narrow roads do be cautious if you're in a lager vehicle. Great food

We checked out the Wednesday steak night. It was fabulous! if you like good steak, superbly cooked and well presented, then I couldn't recommend this place more highly. It's a lot of food for 2 people and would probably work better with 3 or 4 people. Wonderful!
