We were looking for a B and B rather than a hotel for our one night stay on the Isle of Wight, and this fitted the bill perfectly. Our hosts were friendly and attentive, and the room had all that we needed without being a luxury location. The garden was particularly lovely, and a big plus point was the short walk to the sea front.I really liked the quirky decor too and had a lovely chat with our host.

The family who run it are lovely but there is a musty smell that made us all sneeze. They provide a huge English breakfast which after the first day you tend to just order scrambled eggs which is a huge portion in itself. There were little things like the kettle in the room not having a long enough plug to pour the hot water. The beds were comfortable and it was quiet and Shanklin is a lovely little town.

One star is for a good breakfast and their daughter who is a sweetheart, Sharon was nice. I won't consider it as a hotel though, more of a b&b, being superficially clean doesn't mean clean, the carpets were dirty , you can't walk on it barefoot, extra folded bed was dirty, outside bathroom was dirty, room was filled with some strong weird smell, bed was uncomfortable, amenities were next to zero, shower was dead slow. I am sorry but this is what I felt, after seeing so many good reviews we went there, happened for the second time when I chose something based on the reviews. 😣Please guys, be honest in your reviews to help others 🙏

Stayed here for the Isle of Wight festival rather than camp! Friendly welcome - had everything we needed for the weekend. Nice breakfast with lots of coffee, juice and toast. Good shower. WiFi plus TV etc. Local buses to get you to Newport and Ryde. Recommend a stay 🙂

Excellent stay at this Lovely B&B. Very nice and clean family room. Owners were so welcome. Excellent breakfast each morning.I highly recommend this B&B.We never felt so welcome in any others B&B and We definitely be back there, for the breakfast too😉

Although I have reviewed The Hazelwood on a previous stay, I felt I had to write again as it has maintained its high standards. Phill & Karl are excellent hosts, welcoming, spotlessly clean rooms, good breakfast, convenient location, the list goes on ......||We choose the Hazelwood every time.

Lovely bed & Breakfast, great room, lovely comfy bed. Excellent breakfasts each morning. Easy walk into Shanklin at night, Phil and Karl excellent hosts and Karl's art is Amazing! I would highly recommend this lovely place.

Rooms are big and spacious. Plenty of storage area. 5 bed rooms are available at a time.
Other than this there was nothing good in this place.
Around 1pm when we reached place house was very cold. Heating was not working very effectively. After reminding several times till evening they increased heating. There is no alternative option as well. Small heaters were given to us which were useless.
Morning when we woke up there was no hot water in taps. Only after 7am we got hot water.
Breakfast was okay but if you ask for more they said kitchen is closed, which is really annoying.
Blankets were not warm enough.
No access to kitchen. No grill or woven
Totally, not recommended. Very worst experience 😔😔
