Rating for food only / bar service only. Always been good since I have been here. This evening I went with my 3 year old as she wanted whitebait, and she loved them, gobbled up the whole plate. I had a Pizza and it was yum. Staff were nice and got us sorted promptly which was nice for keeping the trip fairly short with a little one.

Another visit
: Went again last Friday and they fit me and my daughter in for her favourite whitebait in town again. Staff really nice, and pub full of friendly patrons many of whom interacted with my daughter and let her stroke their dogs.

Cannot fault this place, owners and staff are wonderful from arrival to leaving after an excellent breakfast. The dinner choices are superb and it's all very reasonably priced.
The room was super clean and well stocked, with lovely touches like a teapot for your morning cuppa.
I stayed as I was working nearby and will come again for business and pleasure

Great stopover (with the dogs, too). Lovely food, friendly, professional service & comfort at historic village location. On-site parking. Quiet village walks and no light pollution for clear sky at night star gazing! We will definately return another time.

I came here for a Christmas meal with friends and was really impressed. The food here is delicious, well priced, and served in generous portions that will fill you up. The staff are also lovely and were really quick to serve us. I would definitely come again.

Good pub grub! Was a group of 8 of us and everyone was served at the same time which was very good. Very attentive waiting staff. Only criticism is in my opinion too hot, the wood burner was chucking out some serious heat however overall good.

Visited for lunch with a friend. We visit on a regular basis and always have a lovely meal. Staff very attentive. Great value for money.|Would love to see more crumble/pies on the sweets menu. Enjoyed the blackberry/apple crumble and custard on our last visit.

Our overnight stay to attend a 90th birthday party was very pleasant. Our room was very comfortable with a lot of character. Our evening drink in the pub area was relaxed with a warm atmosphere. We enjoyed our well cooked breakfast and chats with the staff.
