Location of the pub is picturesque offering fabulous views of the countryside from the outdoor terrace. Sunday roast was delicious but a bit tight on the vegetables...I think I had one skinny carrot on my plate! We will give them another try.

The car park was nearly full when we arrived, which demonstrated how popular the pub is. It's quite loud inside, which is reflected in the low ceiling & the wooden furnishings. The staff were excellent at seating us at our table, taking the drinks order & giving us time to view the menu. The food was excellent. You are given 2 hour time slots, which is quite common with a lot of pubs these days. There are TV screens in the pub, which, on the occasion we were there, were used for large sporting events.

As first-time visitors to The Hermit Inn, we were impressed by the ambience, standard of service and the quality of the food.
It's obviously a very popular spot, based on the number of customers when we visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The pub is on the route of a number of popular walks, and arriving by foot to such a welcoming pub is pleasant indeed.
If you're planning to eat, booking a table is recommended; the booking slots are a generous two hours.
The staff dealt with the steady flow of customers professionally, and with a friendly and welcoming demeanour.
The menu has a good selection of dishes.
Our food arrived quickly, a credit to the staff in what looked like a tiny kitchen. The food was tasty, and well-received by all our group.
Would definitely visit again.

Turned up on spec and was surprised that we managed to get a table for two. Service was very friendly and relaxed and not rushing us at all. Food arrived very quickly and was superb. Couldn’t fault it at all. Nice chilled vibe in the pub would definitely recommend to anyone with dogs or just wanting a no fuss quick service with delicious food.

Splendid food in the lovely setting of a classic Yorkshire pub. Our food was delicious, came quickly and was terrific value. Great range of interesting and local beers too. Pro tip: upgrade your fries, they were incredible.

Father's Day at The Hermit Inn...
Simply The Best 👌
On what looked like the busiest day of their year with every table inside & out full and flowing, the kitchen were producing a constant stream of excellent food. We treated ourselves to the Sunday Roast, which was the best Roast I've enjoyed in a long while. Copious amounts of pink beef, roasties AND mash, giant Yorkie, delicious veggies, and unlimited gravy. It was perfect! Thank you to the kitchen, you worked your socks off. And to the lovely front of house team, you're all a credit to the business 👏🥰

Lots of seating capacity inside and outside. Dogs permitted. Excellent choice on menu, cater for allergies. Met with 3 friends, 3 different mains ordered, portion sizes good, all very satisfied with food and drinks. Reasonable prices. Definitely will visit again.
