Very warm and welcoming. Happy to accommodate my early arrival. Room was dinky, clean and all I needed. Wi-Fi excellent. Breakfast very good choice, well cooked and well served. Supplies of tea, coffee and nibbles plentiful. Very accessible for the Main Street but quiet too. Most enjoyable stay. Thank you.

We received a great welcome at The Highland Guesthouse. Our room was just as in the pictures, it was cozy, clean and full of character. We just spent one night and had a delicious breakfast , again with great customer service. We were given some shortbread for the road when we left, which was such a nice touch. The location was also good with plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance from the guest house. We will definately return if we are in the area again. 🙂

Lovely B&B like home from home. Delightful room sweet Highland Cow decor. Breakfast very generous and tasty. Coffee machine to help yourself 24/7 and lovely selection of teas. Non dairy milk too. Couldn't have asked for more. Jan was a fabulous host very welcoming and accommodating. We loved our stay .. wish we could have stayed longer.

My partner Raquel and I would like to express our deepest gratitude to Jan and her team for the absolutely exceptional welcome we received during our stay at Highland House. We came here almost three weeks ago and our spirit has stayed here. From the moment we arrived, we felt an atmosphere that was so cozy, family-like, and warm that it almost felt like coming home – but even more pleasant than our Parisian apartment. Set in a picturesque setting, this place radiates conviviality and serenity, offering a true oasis of well-being in the heart of the Trossachs.

Our room was simply perfect: spacious, tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, spotlessly clean, and always stocked with thoughtful touches like coffee, tea, and biscuits. The comfort of the bed deserves a special mention: as professional photographers, often prone to body aches from our work, we found a true sanctuary here. Sleeping in this bed was like floating on a cloud, providing complete and restorative rest.

And what can we say about the breakfast? It was simply delicious and plentiful, a real treat to start our days of exploration. Each morning, we were delighted by the quality and generosity of the dishes, all prepared with care and passion.

Our stay was fantastic in every way. We were thrilled by this experience, and we wish to warmly thank Jan, who welcomed us with such kindness, and Gordon, whom we would have loved to meet.

We highly recommend Highland House to anyone looking for an authentic and peaceful place to discover the region. Thank you again to the entire team for making our stay unforgettable.

Having a few days away with the hubby. He has been here before for a cycling trip. The hotel have a place at the back of the house which is secure for cycles, he loves the roads around Callander for his cycling. The hotel is very comfy and has 10 rooms. On arrival Jan is very friendly and welcoming and explains everything even the free coffees which are downstairs as and when you want one. Breakfast is a brilliant meal, fresh fruit, orange juice and full English breakfast. The rooms are comfy, clean and ensuite. Would certainly visit again

We slept very well despite the fact that the beds are 1,90m long. My brother and my self are both 1,86m and 1,91m and used to 2m beds. The rooms are nicely arranged and we were lucky to get the apartment with two rooms and beds to avoid slipping in a 1,40 wide bed together. Jan and Gordon take care of anything you like. Breakfast was great offering all the options from fruit juice, fruit salad, cereals, cooked breakfast. We really enjoyed it. For any further visits in that region I would go back there.|I would exchange the typical water taps versus a single lever mixer.

Virtually everything was very good indeed during our two nights here||The location was great, very central but quiet at night. It was easy walking distance to Callander's attractions as well as the shops, restaurants and bars ||Our room was very comfortable with a decent TV and tea and coffee making facilities||Breakfast was great with lots of choice for either a cooked or continental breakfast. There was a coffee machine and hot drinks were available throughout the day at no extra cost. Fresh fruit and biscuits were also always available||There was plenty of free street parking nearby||The owners were very nice people, friendly and helpful||For us the only downside was that our shower was very weak and in addition became very hot or very cold for no apparent reason

Stayed June 2024, the hosts Jan and Gordon appear to really enjoy making guests happy and were always friendly.

The place was clean, rooms nicely presented, and breakfast was good with a choice of Fruit Salad or Porridge, self-service cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pain au chocolat etc and a choice of cooked items - eggs (scrambled, poached or fried), beans, potato scone, bacon, mushrooms, or eggs on toast. Tea or coffee and juice.

No sausages as a few reviews have commented however I think everything was cooked freshly for you so sausages probably take too long when busy. What there was was excellent and more than enough.

On street parking nearby was no problem even on a summer weekend.

One or two spots could possibly do with some more refurbishment however it does look like the hosts are working through everything and have really turned the place around since taking over (ignore old reviews!). Everything was clean and functional.

If you expect a guest house with warm and welcoming hosts you won't be disappointed. For the price I feel it was excellent and would book again and recommend to friends.
