Went for sunday carvery, came away quite disappointed!
I had pork and beef and a pot of tea, the beef was tough as hell and dog got most of it, expecting Yorkshire Tea I was shocked at getting some horrid scented tea that I couldn't stand the taste of!
My Mrs had the beef and again most of it went in a doggie bag to feed to our dog, it was very tough and chewy and really not nice, rest of the veg and yorky puds was ok but not the beef.
Staff were lovely, it is a nice dog friendly pub and John is working hard to make it work.
Best wishes for the future.

COAST TO COAST WALKERS - this was my only free camping experience of the coast to coast and truly one of my best camping experiences of the whole trip! You get a toilet, shower, washer and dryer, all for free and just donation based if you choose. There were even laundry pods. They stopped serving food at 4pm the day I was there but were happy to help me order food if needed and sold a few snacks which kept me going through the night. Also the locals couldn’t have been friendlier and made for a lively night 🙂 would highly recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. Stayed for 2 days whilst visiting from Wales and by the time we left, we felt like part of the family. Lovely manager, lovely family, lovely locals and lovely dogs! Will 100% be back. Was sad to leave today!

I spent the first night out camping, which is free. I arrived after the pub was closed and decided to setup camp in the back. I took a day break here on my coast to coast. As I awoke the next morning it was down pouring. The Owner came to check on me multiple times and was extremely kind and welcoming showing me around the place. I spent my last night in the hut and it was absolutely wonderful and well worth it! Making yourself a hot cup of tea, charging your devices and a warm clean bed is all ones needs. The huts are cozy and well kept and the locals at the pub were friendly. Plus there's a shop to restock less than 5 minutes up the road

Camped in the garden here for free as a Coast To Coast hiker (perhaps 50 mins walk beyond Richmond centre, right on the trail). The landlady and landlord were very friendly as were other punters in the pub. There's a shower room and toilet around the back which was very nice. They weren't serving food the evening I was there but they set us up with the local takeaway and let us use their dining area, cutlery etc. and we ate like kings.

After reading a review on this place I decided to push on from Richmond and camp here. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by a member of staff who quickly showed my round the site and facilities. Once I was pitched and showered I popped into the pub for a drink where I was greeted by all the locals who are so friendly, camping was free with the use of the bar which was an added bonus.

One of the best places I stayed during my coast to coast trip while camping. The pub is located on the trail so you can't miss it. There is a big garden in the back for pitching a tent and the toilet/shower facilities are better then they are on some 'professional' campsites. Staff here are very friendly and helpful and got me a great meal with more than enough calories to get me through the next day of hiking.
