We enjoyed an outstanding meal - the special Valentines menu. The food was superb and considering what we had, was amazing value. The staff were lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our eating experience. Just four minor issues which we feel could easily be rectified; On arrival, we were asked to go and find a table with plates on! It would have been much nicer and more polite to have been shown to our table. We have never experienced this before in a restaurant. There was nowhere to put our coats except over the back of the chair! Surely they could have been taken from us and put in a cloakroom or on a coat stand? It was acknowledged when we arrived that one of us was wheat intolerant, however when the second course Camembert arrived, it came only with normal bread, no gluten free. However, this was rectified when pointed out to the staff but it did delay the start of that course while we waited for gf bread to be toasted. Lastly, the overhead lights are quite dazzling and would be better if they were dimmable. It was a bit too bright for a romantic meal. Despite those things we still feel the five stars are warranted and we will be back again.

Wow what a lovely hotel. |A lot of dog friendly places are not always so beautifully clean and immaculately decorated. We travelled with our small dog and our 13 year old. The pull out sofa bed was ready made up for her and very comfy. The towels were huge and lovely quality. Bathroom lovely everything perfect. The quality drinks making facilities in the room were a welcome addition and were also replenished during our 2 day stay. The The staff were super helpful and the food was superb. |We would definitely return.

I had a very relaxing time at Hillbrook, preparing for an interview locally. The staff were very kind, encouraging and made my stay comfortable. The room I stayed in had a beautiful style and large layout, comfy bed, a lounge area, and a large accessible bathroom. Breakfast was great, speedy and delicious with lots of choice, cold and hot breakfast foods.
I would definitely recommend staying here- for the stylish room, kind staff, efficient service and great food, you'll definitely enjoy
your stay!

Pros - Beautifully decorated, clean, modern hotel with really friendly, helpful staff and dog friendly. We stayed in a junior suite which was really spacious, lovely touches in the room and kitchenette, lovely bathroom and bathrobes, nice shower gel/shampoo etc. Great location for walking into Sherborne which is a beautiful town.

Cons - Continental breakfast offering was poor for such a nice hotel, underbaked croissant, unappealing fruit salad and some cereal - real let down. Had major issue with the cooked breakfast due to staffing issues but that was resolved by the hotel at the time and felt like a one off incident.

The hotel building is smart, elegant and welcoming.
The reception and kitchen/restaurant staff were professional, polite, efficient and cheerful.
The rooms were bright, functional and extremely comfortable.
The food was delicious, and varied. The chef clearly knew his stuff.
It was a delightful stay and one we shall definitely repeat.

The hotel is fairly new, and is on the outskirts of town, but a great place to stop if you're exploring the area. Car parking was great, just enter your reg at reception. Everyone was friendly, and food and drink great. |It wasn't very busy - which is a shame for the hotel as it really is quite sumptuous and they deserve to do well. We could tell that it was tricky with limited customers in for the weekend, although they said it really varies. From a selfish point of view, having the dining room and bar to ourselves felt like we had exclusivity of the hotel, and as the weekend was one for chilling out, reading and relaxing - it definitely filled the brief! |Bed was comfortable and huge - bathroom was massive and everything was great for accessibility of you needed it. |The small details added a lot to the feel of the place - Elemis busy products, cans of still and sparkling water, a cafetira with property ground coffee and the cutest bottle of milk for your tea/coffee. Mirror was perfect if you like to spend time doing your make up, with several light options, and there was a hairdryer, iron and ironing board in every room asking with a mini Smeg fridge.

Excellent stay , staff friendly only thought : put instructions in room for bathroom fan , heater, and bath rail. Would be helpful . Very green bright light over room door could be distracting for some although we slept well. Breakfast was excellent, service good and staff attentive but took a while to get ordered items. Spa is expensive but well worth it price probably in line with area . Not enough room maybe to build a pool I presume but think that would have attracted alot of guests. Excellent staff . Would stay again .

A modern short stay venue, a little too far out of town by a very busy A30 road.
Helpful and friendly staff, with the exception of day 2 housekeeping (non-existent until I complained, and then dismissive and ineffective).
No public rooms to relax in, leading to a reliance on our Junior Suite mini lounge, which was comfortable but lacking in ambience, not surprising for a brand new hotel.
Food quality was very good.
Receptionists were helpful and professional.
Restaurant staff courteous and professional.
Prices reasonable.
This is not a hotel which wraps itself around you, but it’s OK for a short stay.
