Beautiful and clean pub with lots of character, and a lovely garden. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and presented well and the wait was less than 10 minutes. Will definitely be coming back again! Really do recommend.

Fabulous all round; rooms brilliant, food excellent and wonderful friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure everything is as good as it can be.||The rooms all have binoculars so you can enjoy the views and wildlife or the planes from Bristol airport. Very comfortable beds and so peaceful. Good powerful showers, and tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.||Breakfast is good and 'flexible' allowing for a good start to the day and a great choice of evening meals including a variety of Oggies! Try one, you won't be disappointed! A good choice of beer and wine too catering for all tastes. ||All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly. Dave and Sally must get a special mention. ||Already thinking of our next visit

When you enter the Hunters Rest you go back in time, from the furniture, to the log fires, the wonderfully friendly staff and the service, it all reminded me of what an establishment like this should be like. There is a good choice of food and drinks and it was all freshly cooked and served incredibly efficiently. The quality was excellent and my scampi actually tasted like scampi not what had been dredged up from the sea bed. The chocolate and honeycomb cheesecake was gorgeous and finished off what was a lovely mother's day for me. The Hunters rest team you excelled yourselves and as a family we will be back.

First visit here for Sunday lunch, and very impressed. Lovely old pub, lots of character, with good selection of food and drink.
Had a pork roast, which was really good. There was an issue with our order (there were 6 of us) but was sorted out quickly.
I'm sure we'll be going back

On Friday, 23rd May, a group of six ladies – including my daughter – stopped at The Hunters Rest for a drink during an early evening horse ride. It was a lovely summer evening, and as on previous occasions, they stopped at the far end of the car park, well out of the way of other patrons. Many people outside, especially families with children, seemed to really enjoy seeing the horses.|However, when one of the group went inside to order another drink, she was refused service and told that the horses had to leave. When she politely asked why – since they were not causing any disruption – she was told it was because one of the horses had defecated. This had already been noted by the group, who fully intended to return shortly after to clean it up, as they stable their horses nearby and always act responsibly.|What followed was extremely disappointing and frankly unacceptable. The chef came out of the pub, still in his kitchen whites, got in his car, and followed the group down the road, shouting at them in a verbally aggressive manner. My daughter, who is young, found this intimidating and upsetting. Regardless of age, this kind of behaviour from a staff member is completely inappropriate and unprofessional.

Sadly, no. It was my mum's 60th. We went there for celebrations and it was probably the worst experience we all had. She kept a brave face to save face and keep up the day.

Really upsetting actually.

So have to go consider, pre booked, a table of 6 each side.

None of what I say by the way reflects on the staff only the management for poor training. But we had people coming out with fries saying hmmm this is fried onions "Who Needs it!" Which wasn't wasn't a great. Every singl meal was given out a)born if the starters which meant we were al

We booked a 12pm table for Mother’s Day! Called back 3 hours later to change the time and no one had even done our booking! We booked a 5pm table with the lad and he apologised for the previous not booking us in. I’ve just called back a week later and yet again nothing booked!!! And they don’t do tables at 5pm! Staff!! What are you doing? Wake up!! It’s now 10 days before Mother’s Day and everywhere is fully booked! Joke!! Not happy

I love this pub. I’ve been coming here all my life, from a young child, sitting outside with my cousins, with a packet of crisps and bottle of coke. Playing space invaders in their outdoor games room at the time. Riding the train and playing on swings. I am now 57 and still come and eat in with my family , friends and sometimes dogs. Come here every year for my birthday meal. Who remembers the little blue cards with your special number on to gain points. Best pub ever.
