From the moment we arrived every staff member we met was friendly, efficient, professional and really cared. The Huntsman is lovely in a lovely location about 2.5 miles from centre of Holmfirth. Taxis extremely quick and efficient currently £7 in to the town. Our room (we had a family room) was spacious, lovely decor and absolutely spotlessly clean as was the whole place. We had breakfast only which was excellent- great choice for vegans too. We will definitely return when visiting Holmfirth again. Thank you

Stayed one night in the family room with 4 female friends. A beautiful location close to Holmfirth and its amenities. Room was spacious, comfortable, clean with great facilities. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Food was great. Will definitely return

Stopped by for a birthday meal with my partner and son, the service was a little slow so we grabbed another waitress who was more than helpful. The setting and the food was absolutely lovely and I'd say good value for money! Steak was beautiful and cooked as we all like it and the desserts were just as good.
Would definitely visit again!

Food is very box standard and very over priced. Sunday roast was brewers fayre at best and cost £18.95! Burnt potatoes, floppy over cooked broccoli, cauliflower cheese was just boiled cauliflower with some melted cheese poured on.

Won’t be returning for food here again I am afraid, much better food establishments for much better value for money.

Great to sit outside/location in summer I imagine for drinks but very box standard, fast out of the kitchen provision.

Views are great

Staff are nice and pleasant too

We stayed two nights in a family room. It was clear that cleanliness is a priority here which is good to see. Our room was spotless and had the usual welcoming tea tray with biscuits, coffee and tea. A range of toiletries were provided too and unusually for most hotels the air conditioning both hot and cold worked perfectly. The highlight though was the food. A varied menu is on offer here and the quality and portions don’t disappoint. Breakfast is a must, again hot and well portioned, setting us up for a day of walking. A slightly lower sleep quality score relates to a smaller bed than we’re used to rather than anything else. We had such a good stay that we’ve booked with a sister hotel for another trip to the Peaks.

Did a motorhome stop over here so can’t comment on rooms.
Absolutely stunning place.
Very, very high standard, beautiful.
Really nice accessible toilet was good as my partner uses a wheelchair, it’s surprising how many establishments are not up to scratch with accessibility.
Staff are excellent, couldn’t be more helpful and pleasant. Was served by Cat and Charlotte, two really nice girls. Had brilliant banter with Charlotte, all added to the relaxed atmosphere.
Breakfast was superb! Didn’t eat another thing that day!
Will definitely be returning 👍👍👍

Walked to the Huntsman Inn on a lovely day so we could sit in the beer garden and try the food. The premises are faultless as was the greeting from the staff. We were tempted by a free sample to try the brewery’s own beer and stout which I was pleased we did they were lovely and we stuck to them. Unfortunately we then decided to order food and that’s where this lovely pub and staff let themselves down, we ordered a belly pork noodle dish, crispy beef salad and halloumi fries, they were all terrible, If you fancy a nice pint in a nice friendly environment i recommend, if you fancy some nice fresh and well cooked food at a reasonable price then avoid this place it is not for you, shame:(

I decided to have a night away in my motorhome, with my 2 year old and dog. I was going to park at the side of the road and saw this pub was close by to have tea and pass the time. It turns out that I could park here overnight for free, which made my adventure much more relaxed. We all felt very welcome. The girl who served me was amazing! She could not do enough for us. I did not catch her name but she said her family work here too. She genuinely loves her job and people. I may pop in for breakfast and then going to have a wander around some waterfalls tomorrow. What a great adventure.
