I was very disappointed with the Imperial. Our room (18) was extremely small and the bathroom tiny. It was accessed by steep narrow staircase which was difficult with luggage. The room was very dated and needed a total refurbishment. The breakfast was adequate but limited choice for cereals. The general areas are also in need of refurbishment and reception closed at 8.30pm each day. Parking at the back of the hotel is very tight and costs ยฃ10 per day. You have to leave your car keys in case someone you park behind needs to move. The staff were good but they cannot alter the fabric of the place.

This was our 3rd time here so my review is on a comparison to previous wonderful visits. The flat out the back was damp smelling, in need of a good carpet clean, wallpaper peeling and constant noise from the new ish flat above every time the occupants moved about. The breakfast is not as good as it used to be and is now completely self service with the eggs, bacon etc lying in warm oily containers. The staff are lovely and I feel they must realise the place is not as it once was. There are nice options for 100 plus a night in Plymouth. Very sad to write this but have to be honest.

Immaculately clean, large (Georgian?) House, set in the 'upper' half of Lockyer close (beware Sat-nav!). Spacious warm rooms, comfortable beds & furniture. Very clean bathroom... Great TV network selections (& WiFi), I really cannot fault this Hotel, having stayed in dozens - 2 nights, but I ate out. 5-6mins walk from Plymouth Town centre, friendly & helpful staff. I honestly recommend the Imperial to all, business or families. James A.

The room was basic but comforable and clean. The ensuite was spacious and the shower very good.|Small television with just itv and channel4 channels working. |Tea and coffee making facilities provided.|Breakfast was excellent and plentiful.|We only had minimal interaction with the staff but they seemed nice enough.|The hotel is a stones throw from Hoe park, so great for an evening and/or morning stroll.||Disliked ยท Parking is bad, some sort of first in, last out arrangement; where you have to leave your keys in reception so they can move your car! Thankfully I got one of the spaces at the front where this doesn't occur otherwise I'd leave it on the road.

lovely big comfy bed, room bit tatty but very clean, nice breakfast, staff very friendly, parking was bit of a shambles as cars had blocked empty spaces but other than that we had a great stay
