What a fabulous place in Hayfield. We planned on exploring the rest of Hayfield but ended up staying here all night. Becky who worked there ordered us in a takeaway and provided plates, cutlery etc so we could eat in the pub (she was brilliant). The beer was magnificent, so why move on. We had such a great time and will definitely be back.

What a fabulous place in Hayfield. We were looking for somewhere to eat and the barmaid offered to order us a takeaway of our choice and provide plates, cutlery etc so we could eat in the pub. Becky was magnificent and a credit to the place. The icing on the cake was the beer, which was really excellent. We loved this place and will definitely be back.

Came here after a hke with some friends. Amazingly friendly and welcoming. Thought it was too full at first, as a lot of people were standing, but they went out their way to fix us up a table and make us feel at home

A comfortable and welcoming stay very clean and well presented, great location and host. Breakfast was way above par for what you would expect and the coffee too. Also dog friendly which most of the areas pubs are which is a real boon water available.

A bit old and tired but brilliant location for the Sett Valley Trail. Walked the 3 miles to New Mills with the dog and back again. Pub is friendly with helpful staff. No evening meals or pub lunches but they do an amazing full English breakfast. Couldn’t eat it all and remained stuffed all day so saved on lunch! Dog friendly so all good. Busy with locals and all sports available on bar TV

We stayed here on our way back from Scotland. The room was comfortable and old fashioned but in a nice way as it set the scene for the area. We had an amazing view of the hills from our room window which was nice just to sit and look out at. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. The host was very friendly and helpful. |Only downside was we were in a room near the road and it was karaoke night. We heard Angels by Robbie Williams numerous times and the people who were outside in the little patio area were not very quiet. Would recommend but try and get a room on the other side. Hopefully it is quieter.

The owner was very friendly and welcoming. He also made a first-class cooked breakfast in the morning - you could tell he took pride in cooking it. The quality and plating up was excellent.

The cost of the room (£80) for such a central location, and such a great breakfast was well worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
