We stayed in room 1, which appeared well detached from the other 2 rooms which was a great feature, although I think we were the only ones staying anyway.
A nice room with a double aspect look out, one way the park and the other lovely historic buildings.
A great selection of continental breakfast in the room, 1 heater did not appear to be working, but the bathroom heater and other room heater was adequate.
We visited the on-site pub which was very pleasant, efficient and we enjoyed the food and service, we was particularly impressed with the young lady serving, she was brilliant in our view, and a real natural customer service person.
The next morning we walked the local area, which was incredibly pleasant, interesting and historic.
All in all a very pleasant stay, so thanks to all.
We would most certainly return and would recommend this place whole heartedly.

Had Sunday lunch for a party of 10 of us at this lovely country pub, with a log fire burning and a nice atmosphere. The food was amazing well presented and good portions. The service was brilliant couldn’t do enough for us. The dessert menu was good too a good selection we all ate well and had a lovely time. Would definitely recommend 😊

Beautiful pub with the friendliest of staff! Enjoyed a hearty Sunday roast - the highlight of the meal was a honey and cinnamon pudding which was absolutely worth ditching the NY resolution for! Furnished with delicious and inventive cocktails - ready for a pleasant snooze after such a feast

Very popular with the locals, staff friendly and polite, food options are good, with the kitchen closing at 9pm so order your table early, car park available also.

I wouldn’t normally bother leaving a review, but this was so bad I couldn’t help myself. Firstly they got the time of my booking wrong so we had to sit on a different table

2) the menu was so limited because apparently they are so busy on a Sunday they can’t serve everyone- not even half full today.

3) the food was dire. The roast lamb was undercooked and so fatty that it was inedible. The mixed grill had the tiniest, toughest bit of steak that wasn’t fit for consumption, one tiny bit of chicken and the liver was like leather.

The worst thing is we barely finished half of our meals and they didn’t even think to ask if the meal was ok- totally oblivious. Avoid this place like the plague, I have no idea how it has a rating above 4

Wonderful little pub, very friendly manager who showed us to and around our rooms, very clean room and plenty to choose from for the free breakfast in the room.
Cosy little pub and great and friendly service there.

Only suggestion (and this is no complaint) is maybe include a pot noodle or two in the room (chicken and mushroom/beef and tomato 😁)

Went for an event. Staff were lovely and the buffet provided was generous and really tasty. Highly recommend.
