I loved staying at the Kings Head. It’s my sort of place. Friendly. Functional. Clean and comfortable. Fantastic value with a Brontë Bus stop right outside.

Easy access with electronic passes (fob) to come and go as you like.

Short stroll into town and fantastic Harvey’s next door for breakfast.

Large spacious room with comfortable bed was the only positive thing. | Window that didnt close. Shared bathroom was grotty. | Side street noisy ALL night.|Limited parking in back yard.|No evening meals or breakfast. |Hotel in a dodgy area of town. Wouldn't feel safe walking at night. |Wouldn't recommend.

First the positive:
The room was nice and big, overall seemed pretty clean. We had a big TV that worked well. The staff were pretty friendly.
The area itself is quite run down. It’s a noisy busy street, during the day but also at night, but that’s often a problem with town pubs.

Now the negative :
Let’s put it this way, did I feel safe? Not really. But did anything bad happen? No.
The first day we arrived there was a strong smell of “illegal substances” in the hall way. Probably one of the other guests. The second night we stayed was karaoke night. Be warned, they go hard and they sing loud.
If you don’t mind the noise, the slightly dirty bathroom and the possibility of coming in contact with slightly odd guests, then this place really isn’t that bad. Maybe don’t bring your kids…

There’s a small place to park behind which could get a bit cramped, but it’s better than parking on the street.

Booked for my daughter and her friend , she checked in and messaged me to say it looked like a homeless shelter , it was dirty and she felt uncomfortable, she left after about an hour. I have since messaged them and booking. Com asking for a refund, £ 7.50 back from booking but not even had a reply from the pub. It was only £50 but for two students that's a lot , but saying that it doesn't matter how much a place costs it should be up to a certain level of cleanliness and comfort, disgusting

The location is okay. Not far away from the railway station. The room is big but old and not clean. See the attached pics.

Whole place stinks of pee in corridors by bedrooms. Music from bar till early hours of the morning. Rooms dated and in desperate need of up dating. Fighting in the streets outside window. We were booked in for 2 nights but left after 1 night to a travel lodge. It is not fit for human habitation. Should not be on Booking.com. Amazing how it got so many good reviews on Booking.com. Was not fit for a dog to stop. Also they break the rules by charging to use a debit card in the bar.

Booked this with a female friend, both of us in our early 20s. Left without staying the night and booked into the local Travelodge.

Everything about it felt unsafe and creepy.

When we arrived the bar was full of older men who stared, and the woman who worked there commented to one of them "THEY'RE staying here tonight," in a certain tone of voice, giving implications I really didn't like.

Had an encounter upstairs in the accomodation too with a man knocking on our door aggressively after I accidentally tried his door when I'd been looking for the shared kitchen.

I'm not particular about where I sleep and I've slept in places that looked far worse, but I didn't feel safe staying here.
