My wife and I booked a meal at the Lake Isle to catch up with some friends and decided to book a room to take advantage of their wine list.|The room as spotless and beautifully appointed, the small hotel is a quirky old building and was thoughtfully decorated and attention to detail was every where.|The meal was fantastic, my wife had the panko scallops.... they were that good I didn't even get to sample one! I had the venison and the others in the party had the trio of beef. All of it was superb and with generous portions. Deserts were also beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked. There were some great wines on offer and we took full advantage of not having to drive home.|Breakfast, full english for 3 and a veggie for one, perfectly cooked and great produce.|Staff were attentive throughout dinner and breakfast. |Overall a great stay would happily recommend and look forward to staying here again.

Excellent festive lunch. Always such a treat to dine at The Lake Isle. Food, service, atmosphere all top notch! Fabulous wine and drinks. The food was served with a to good to eat plate full of yummy deliciousness. Excellent service by very courteous staff. There was not a morsel left on our plates - even the kids tucked in and enjoyed everything especially the parsnips. |Definitely recommend the gingerbread attic roll - utterly delightful!|Great wine selection too!

Really enjoyed our visit here. Met family for lunch, and stayed overnight. The food and service were both outstanding and good value too.
Room was comfy and warm, not to mention convenient.

The hotel itself was lovely—the room, evening meal, and breakfast were all excellent. However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. When we checked in, I wasn’t sure we had the room we booked, so I called down to check. The response was dismissive, and after some back-and-forth, I was finally offered a different room but declined based on the attitude I’d already received. Throughout our stay, small things added up—other guests receiving extras we didn’t, being seated after later arrivals, and not being shown to our breakfast table. The atmosphere felt a bit off, and simple requests were met with unnecessary awkwardness. When we settled the bill, we weren’t even asked about our stay—just awkward silence, which summed up the service overall. A real shame, as everything else was great.

Lovely hotel with really excellent food - great value for the area. The garden cottage room has everything you need and plenty of space. The staff are absolutely delightful and very, very accommodating.

A 2-night stay to this centrally located restaurant with rooms, on two floors above with others in outside buildings.
Welcoming and helpful staff on arrival, throughout stay and on departure.
Dined in first evening, excellent with fine dining and quality ingredients, topped off with great service.
Wide choice of breakfast options, again well presented, many ingredients sourced locally.
Limited on street daytime & evening parking and while there is on site parking, it's tucked away immediately behind, down a narrow "street" and up a narrow lane, where cars have to be double parked, then reversed back out the same way. Not too bad in the dry & daylight, less so at other times.
Happily return if back in this area.

My Husband and I stayed in Room 2 which was absolutely amazing. Really well thought out room with an absolutely out of this world bathroom. Total luxury! Beautiful rooms & restaurant with super friendly management & staff. Will certainly return. What a gem!
