Great spot for a hearty meal at incredible prices! No fancy gimmicks or gotchas - just lots of good food in a comfortable walk-in cafe environment and friendly staff. Ordered from their various "set" menus for breakfast and left with thoroughly satisfied tummys and wallets. Highly recommend for a laid-back morning meal!

Our go to brekkie spot these days as most others have gentrified themselves and charge extortionate prices!
Good, hearty, simple food that you'd expect from a cafe, with reasonable prices.

I took time looking for a proper cafe, found this one it was quiet/ empty 🚩 didn't have bloomer loaf 🚩still made order:- egg & bacon roll then she must've heard "a little bit of sausage with my roll" & no margarine & still got that a lot of it!🚩
The 2 stars only for the E&B roll half descent.

Walking into The Lane Café is like stepping into breakfast heaven, where the sizzling symphony of fry-ups greets you at the door. From the first whiff of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the aroma of perfectly crisped bacon, you know you’re about to experience something truly extraordinary. I came here with a friend, and what we encountered was nothing short of culinary euphoria.

The full English breakfast was a masterpiece of indulgence, plated with a level of care that bordered on artistry. The eggs were sheer perfection—sunny yolks that oozed golden richness, paired with fluffy whites cooked to just the right consistency. The bacon was the star of the show, with a balance of crunch and juiciness so exquisite it could have been crafted by angels. Sausages? Heavenly. Each bite was a burst of herby, savory flavor that practically melted in the mouth.

The black pudding was a revelation, offering a rich, earthy depth that felt like a warm hug for the soul. The grilled tomatoes and mushrooms provided a luscious, smoky counterpoint, while the beans—oh, the beans—were sauced in a way that made me question every other tin of beans I’ve ever had. Even the toast was next-level, with a golden crunch that served as the perfect vessel for dollops of butter that practically danced across the palate.

And the hash browns? I’m not sure what kind of sorcery went into them, but they were so crispy and light they might as well have been spun from dreams. The portions were as generous as the staff, who made us feel like royalty from start to finish.

By the time my friend and I left, we were not just satisfied; we were transformed. The Lane Café doesn’t just serve breakfast—it redefines it. If you haven’t been, go immediately. If you have been, go again.
