I stayed in a single room for three nights when on business in the area. Ms Shearer was welcoming, charming and really helpful. The room was a good enough size for my needs and had its own shower room and lavatory. All really well-decorated, clean and with everything required. Some delightful and quirky signs, but these added to my sense of well-being.||||The breakfast was excellent and coffee plentiful. It was interesting to have other people at the same dining table, and whilst this may not be for everyone, I thoroughly enjoyed this different experience.||||I am really looking forward to my return trip this autumn.

As most of the other reviews this is a private house and you are using the landladies Sons bedroom whilst I guess he is in Uni, feels a bit odd my wife was unhappy with this arrangement . Yes I did get a school teacher lecture about locking the front door at all times and filling in the breakfast form, but not a problem. Shared bathroom nice and clean. Breakfast was very good and we were asked if we wanted more tea, toast ect. Value I would say it was a bit salty for room with no private bathroom and would not return unless desperate .

Pleasant enough bed & breakfast and good location, although the overriding feeling we had when staying there was that we were not wanted & that the owner shouldn't really be in this trade. |I totally accept that this is her house, but there needs to be some demonstration of good customer service. Everything felt like too much trouble & the owners manner needs to be adjusted to make people feel welcome. |Details of the stay are not relevant for this review, it is just to highlight the issues to the owner (who I felt wouldn't appreciate face to face feedback) & to potential customers that this place is just like staying at your new unfriendly girlfriend's mums house.

I booked this B&B for my birthday weekend, we were attending two concerts at Westonbirt Arboretum on the Friday and Saturday evenings so thought it would be great to stay in the area even though we only live in Bristol. We planned to enjoy our evenings at the concert and spend the Saturday (my birthday) wandering around Tetbury and enjoying lunch, this was not meant to be.|| ||I booked our stay through an online booking system for myself, my husband and another couple taking both of the establishments larger rooms, even though the booking was made in my name and paid for through my bank account the proprietor still addressed everything to the male guests in the second room, even sending a cheque for an over payment in his name.|| ||On arriving at the property, the door was opened by the lady of the house with no greeting or introductions made, she showed us to our rooms and spoke to us in a manner that made us all feel intimidated, even showing us how to lock a door. We went to our rooms to unpack, she (sorry do not know her name) sat in the bedroom next to us, we felt as we were being watched constantly and felt we could not relax or even have a conversation.|| ||We are just 2 normal couples all in our late forties looking for a pleasant stay, we were made to feel that we did not pass inspection and were not up to the expected calibre of her normal guests.|| ||The stay made us feel so uncomfortable that after breakfast on the first morning we packed our things and left foregoing our second evening stay (already paid for) and came back home returning to our concert via a taxi in the evening.|| ||The B&B itself is in a nice area, and yes you do use the childrenโ€™s rooms, hence the names of the rooms, Sophie and Charles, which we were fine with but it would have been nice to have more dedicated visitor space as was unsure what we were allowed to touch, maybe that was just how we had been made to feel.Breakfast was of a good standard, not enough for an adult male though. Sorry cannot comment on the WiFi as we were not offered it nor did we stay around long enough to find out !!!||||Oh and if you are an early riser you will find your host weeding the garden around about 5.30 am.||||I do not feel that the lady of this house is cut out for this profession, unwelcoming, rude and abrupt, if she continues to take in guests I think maybe she may be better off advertising on a more upper class letting site where the more common Joe Bloggs such as ourselves would not be looking.||||It has definitely made me think as to whether I would be prepared to take a chance on a small private B&B again which is a shame for those who welcome you warmly into their homes.

A very comfortable, well appointed and clean accommodation which gave that home from home feeling, even to the point where you mother reminded you to lock the front door!||||This is my only bone of contention, I understand the security aspect of ensuring the property is locked, despite the location being a quaint Cotswold town. Being a hotelier myself, that is one of my worries!|||| A serious health and safety issue here I am afraid, guests should be able to unlock the door without the use of a mortice key, in the event of a fire, panic is a natural reaction, especially in a strange environment, ||||May I suggest that the lock is replaced with possibly a nightlatch, these are recommended by insurance companies. This type would allow guests to come and go without the need of a key to get out, they are safe and secure, I did advise on their use when I was a Police officer.||||Towels, or rather lack of, has been mentioned in previous reviews! I had an appointment to get to. After a long tiring journey a shower was called for, I did not bring any towels as they were mentioned in the B&B description as supplied, I am 6' and about 17st, a hand towel was not sufficient for me following a shower.||||So if staying here I recommend you bring your own, would I return? Of course I would, Sarah was friendly and helpful and I realise now I should have mentioned the towel situation before I left.

We stayed with Sarah for one night on Friday. Sarah was so welcoming to us. The room was lovely and everything had been thought out to accommodate us. We had forgotten a couple of items, but we neednโ€™t have worried as Sarah had thought of everything and was well stocked up. A little gem and we will be back.

Restrictive practices mean that you can only check it at certain times of the day. Doors are locked at 00.30 in the morning. I had to cut short my family wedding which had only just started the disco phase to return to this property. I did not get the full English breakfast due to not completing the order form on the previous day, despite not being told to do this when checking in. I was just told to specify a time when I wanted to take the breakfast. Upon complaining, the Landlady was rude and said I should of read the leaflet more carefully which was written using a strange font which was hard to read . I asked where the nearest shop was and for directions to my Wedding Location and was told that they did not know. This is not a Hotel but a residential house which is being used to rent rooms on the internet, and is very dubious.. Would never stay here ever again!!!! Atrocious service and Landlady behavior!

Well what can I say, I travel a lot for work and being a single travelling female i'm always wary. I have to say I booked this property in a rush and didn't check the reviews let me tell you I wont be doing that again!!!!! big mistake.||||On arriving at the property Iate and very tired as I had been held up with work, for which I previously apologized. I was shown my Tiny tiny room at the front of the house where I felt as though I was on show for all to see, I was then giving strict step by step instructions on how to lock a door..... come on I'm a 36 year old women I think I can open a door with a key and lock it without a full rendition of war and peace!!!||||It was so hot and close and not being able to open my window more than a slither did me no favors what so ever, the window had stoppers applied to it permitting you to open it fully.||||I was then asked to fill out a laminated sheet on what I wanted for breakfast, but unfortunately due to having to be up half an hour before the landladies allotted times for breakfast I was refused a cooked breakfast, most un- accommodating, instead I had to plump for cheap processed thin wholemeal bread.||||So not all bad the bed was comfortable and the room clean, on arriving back on the friday evening after not eating all day as I was the only one on my trade stand and having only had some processed bread for breakfast I thought I would treat myself to a curry and a bottle of wine. The landlady was no where to be seen to ask to borrow a plate or a wine glass so I used the breakfast dishes, which I made sure I washed and returned to the dining room which I might add at no time in my stay was I advised I must not enter should the landlady not be there.||||The following morning I received a rather nasty text from the landlady regarding her wine glass and how astonished she was that I had helped myself and that her property did not permit the consumption of alcohol, at this point I am totally gobsmacked that she had the nerve to message me. If I want to have a drink I blinking well will, I could understand If i had spilt red wine on her cream carpet or smashed a glass or been banging around coming in late.||||I was made to feel like a total criminal!!!!!||||I feel sorry for those people who paid this women to go there on holiday she has to be the most uninhabitable person I think I have ever come across ||||I showed the other traders at the show and they could not believe the message she had sent.||||The next day I left the property early handed Sarah the key I couldn't even look her in the eye she made me feel so unwelcome it was unreal.||||This women should not be in this business and the sooner she gives up as she suggested the better to save anyone else experiencing madam trunchball.||||I have to say I felt as though I was at boarding school.||||I strongly advise if you are booking a trip away do not go to the light house, total shame worst stay I have ever had ๐Ÿ™ and I travel ALOT!!!!!! what a waste of ยฃ166
