Jerry & Margaret made us feel very welcome for my stay for the Great North run. Jerry kindly gave me lots of info as it was my first time in the North East and the run. He arranged taxi transfer and even left a some goodies in the room for post run. All amenities are good and a smashing breakfast.
Will stay at the Lighthouse again.
Recommend it.

Superbly comfortable bed, plenty of facilities including excellent TV, heater, radiator, drinks facilities and plenty of storage. || Easy parking. The hotel and our room were cleaned daily to a very high standard. Gerry and Margaret the hosts are very helpful, friendly and informative. We spent a week there and found plenty of places to eat, drink and see.

Decided to stay here for 3 nights as it’s local to my work and I couldn’t give enough praise to the owners, very friendly to talk to, any requests I had was dealt with straight away, room cleaned everyday while I was out, all precautions taken due to current COVID situation, felt very safe during stay and will definitely be booking again! Cheers Gerry and Margaret, thoroughly enjoyed my stay! If I could give 6 starts I would! 🙂

Lovely stay once again with Margaret and Jerry - recommended Turknaz at the bottom of the road which was excellent. very comfortable bed.. private parking at front and a 5 minute walk to Spanish city and main beach. Highly recommended and exceptional value for money

This B&B is situated in a back street which had off street parking. We were emailed 2 days before arrival advising us that breakfast wouldn’t be served because of Covid. As we were already on our 8 day road trip, it was too late for me to rearrange. The room was small, the shower atrocious (no water pressure), the TV far to big for the room. The most unsafe, Covid wise, we have stayed during our 8 day trip. Jerry seemed to think putting hand sanitiser by the front door is making the place safe. Jerry is a very chatty man, too chatty I would say whilst not wearing a mask.Sorry, not for us and I can safely say that this was the worst place we stayed during our trip. I could go on but will leave it there.

I regularly stay at the Lighthouse in Whitley Bay. Why? Because it's spotlessly clean, always a very warm welcome from Margaret and Jerry. They bend over backwards to provide a 'home from home'. ||I travel all over the country for work, and trust me, not many big name hotels could come close to this level of service.||Working in the compliance industry I know the difference between excellent quality of service and a 'run of the mill' establishment.||If you're going to visit Whitley Bay, give the Lighthouse a go. You will not be disappointed!||They certainly deserve all of their awards.

Great B&B comfortable bed clean room good breakfast and really friendly host's Jerry and Margaret,
Very close to sea front and town centre.
I stayed on my own while visiting some mates i served with in the RN, and would certainly recommend this guest house to any one visiting the north east.
