Called in for a post walk pint. I had a pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord. A lovely pint, friendly guy on the bar. Both the bar & the toilets were spotless. I'd definitely recommend this pub.

We had booked for 1pm, got held up, so contacted The Lion House to put us back to 2pm (irritating for any pub). Absolutely no drama, arrived at 2, had a lovely meal, friendly, good service, nice beer, great atmosphere and very very dog friendly. Would absolutely recommend The Lion House to anyone.

We had a really lovely meal here last night which wasn't planned. It was far better than the normal pub grub. Everything was really tasty. Couldn't give it 5 as the only diet pop was diet coke and the waitress wasn't very helpful when we arrived. Would definitely recommend though.

A great pub that serves delicious food and great beer. The outside seating area faces south and is a great sun trap on a tap nice day.

Seems reasonably priced in comparison to others in the area.

I've been here a number of times and never had a bad experience. Tonight was the first time I had food and it was a truly pleasurable meal. The food was fantastic, I tried a few of the starters and had a Steak. The squid and the chicken goujons were both very pleasant and my sirloin steak was cooked to perfection.
The staff serving myself and my friend were polite, pleasant to talk to, and a good laugh as well.
I'd highly recommend the pub to any of my friends and it's my place of choice any time I'm in Allendale.

Food was absolutely delicious - all homemade and beautifully presented too. The fish and chips came with homemade tartare sauce too which was out of this world! Service was really friendly and we felt really welcome as soon as we arrived. All in all a fantastic meal in a lovely rural setting.
