Really nice pub this, location is nice, beer garden/outside seating area is spacious and offers a fair sized play area for children.

We came for drinks and food the weather was about 23 degrees + cracking the flags hot. Place was rammed but managed to get a seat. So beware on a hot day this place can fill up very quick, I would definitely book next time to avoid disappointment. I had the steak and ale pie and it was one of the best I’ve had in a country pub setting, Mobberley’s famous steak and ale pie is good, but I would argue this one is better. I honestly couldn’t stop going on about how good all the food was we had. If I had one critique it would be the cheese and onion pie needed to use stronger cheese to give it more character. Aside from that I’ll definitely be back !! 10/10

Lost signal over the moors so unable to complete a table booking for 1500. On arrival we were helpfully booked into a 1600 slot. Meanwhile we’re enjoying the very well kept ales. Recommend the Holts Two Hoots. Another update once we get food….

Update: food was delicious - we’re both stuffed now. Thoroughly recommend the steak&ale pie - comes with chips or mash plus veg, which was a healthy mix of cabbage, sugar snap peas and green beans.

Also managed to squeeze in some Eton mess (and ice cream)- double stuffed now but well worth it - very enjoyable. All at a reasonable price with a friendly and attentive service. Thank you.

For those with kids/dogs - all appeared welcome in there too.

This pub is in the middle of nowhere but it is amazing! We went for the kids area and my nephews loved it and had hours of fun. We sat enjoying the drinks and we ordered some light bites which came very quickly to say how busy they were. They have a goat pen next to the play area and there are ducks wandering around. Such a beautiful place.

Great family meal here today. Friendly service, lovely location and relaxed dining experience. The food that we had was lovely. To make it even better, we would have liked to have more vegetarian options on the menu, and maybe some salads or lighter options available in the sunny weather. Not a biggie though, and we would come again.

Our favourite walk is from New Mills to Rowarth. It is an easy walk and being able to stop at The Little Mill for food and a drink just makes the walk even better. The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff so nice. The homemade Eccles cakes are the best and we try to get some everytime we go. The pub is great for everyone. It is always full of a mixture of people, cyclists, families, couples etc and the pub accommodates them all so well.

Well this has really been a perfect stay from start to finish. The location is so pretty with amazing walks on your doorstep. The pub and accommodation is superb. We stayed in the shepherd hut 2. Food was unbelievable. Really well cooked and lovely produce. The staff are what make this 5 stars all round for me. They really made us feel so welcome and we're so lovely and very funny. We laughed so much on this little trip. Everyone is so friendly apart from the geese. They 100% had it in for us. We will definitely be returning. I think this will become an annual trip. Thanks so much for making our stay so special 💗

We booked lunch for a family group and after a blustery walk, it was warm and inviting. The staff are friendly and helpful, quick to take our orders and not rushing after we ate. The food orders all arrived at the same time. Each is well presented and there were many comments of great, delicious and wow as we ate.
The place is very clean, toilets kept spotless (important for some of our group)
Obviously a popular spot to eat and drink. We will visit again in the summer.
Many thanks to the kitchen staff, bar staff and servers for making our lunch a lovely experience.

Lovely setting, very clean spacious apartment, good food using local produce really appreciated. Customer service was great, made to feel welcome from checking in, helped me to park and waiting staff for dinner and breakfast efficient and friendly. Will definitely return.
