I recently stopped by The Lock Inn Café in Bradford-on-Avon during a bikepacking trip, and it was the perfect place to recharge. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, making us feel welcome right away. The food was not only plentiful but also absolutely outstanding—just what we needed! I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in the area. Highly recommended!

A really lovely canal-side setting and great food. I had breakfast here which was very nice indeed. Parking is available nearby but if on a motorbike you can pull down the lane next to the cafe.

This is a lovely place right on the canal. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and there were plenty of tables available on our visit. We really enjoyed our food, the children portions were quite large which made the lad happy.
Definitely worth a visit on a sunny day.

I only looked in here but it looisvtur perfect place to sit by the canal and watch the boats coming and going. Lovely looking cakes etc so if I come through again I will give it a go.

This is an unpretentious bar/cafe idealy situated right on the Kennet and Avon canal, just below the lock. Dog friendly too. We walked in unbooked at 12.30pm on a weekday and there were plenty of tables adjacent to the water, but these filled up later. I thought the menu was excellent, something for everyone whether you wanted just a bite to eat or a meal. We ordered the ribs, which were excellent, plenty of barbecue sauce, great chips and a side of slaw, which was crunchy and creamy.
This is not the first time we have eaten here and it will not be the last. Very pleasant and efficient staff, but I can imagine delays with food when it is really busy due to the number of tables available. This is actually from experience as on our last visit we waited 45 minutes for our food. But then, sat next to the canal watching the boats go by, who cares!

Food was terrible , service was mediocre, our waiter gave me the greasiest meatiest lasagna and driest salad that seemed unwashed without any dressing. I asked for a veggie Lasagna and my partner was given the cheapest tasting burger he’s ever had and we were charged £14-15 each for these meals. I wouldn’t pay more than £5 for what we had. Would not recommend food here. This should not be a 4 star restaurant….

Our second year to visit. We are a large group of 14 so booked our table in advance for brunch. Food took around 45 minutes to be served but that suited us fine as we were a group who had not been together for a year so lots to catch up on. The young people serving us were excellent. So efficient. All the orders came out perfectly. Food was great and good value.
We came back in the afternoon and found space for 12 of us and we had ice-cream. Oh my but that ice-cream was good.
Would thoroughly recommend and being on the river their is lots to see.

Short but sweet visit. Great food and drink. Nice and quiet when I went, just what I wanted.

Second visit, I had the full boatman. What a treat! I'm sure I ended up with a full tin of plum tomatoes!

There's a huge choice on the menu, including lots of choice of what items to have for your breakfast.

Great service. They prefer payment up front, which is fair enough these days.
