Called in for a meal. Server was a bit abrupt and edging on rude as she tutted about customers coming in. Not very professional.
Ordered cheeseburger and chips, can't go wrong, classic pub grub we thought.
The portion was generous. Dived straight in as was hungry. Unfortunately the chips were skinny fries, and tasted very greasy. Needed extra salt and vinegar to kill the taste.
The burger wasn't much better, the cheese had melted to the bread bun and was congealed.... quite disgusting. No salad in the bun itself but a 'side salad' consisting of scabby lettuce, cherry tomato and a few squares of pepper and onion.
Needless to say, we didn't finish our meals.
This pub could be so much better if it had an atmosphere, polite happy server and thought ' quality over quantity ' with regards their food.

Come here for Sunday dinner, and safe to say it was the worse Sunday dinner I’ve ever had. Serving Frozen yorkshire puddings, I had the national depot of mashed potatoe on my plate, why do I need so much mash in fact why do I even need mash when I have roast potatoes. Doesn’t say on the menu that I had that it come with mash, the roast potatoes were as dry as a nuns beef was dry, gammon was moist but very very bland no taste to it, and to top it off I didn’t even ask for gammon lol but I couldn’t even be bothered to change it. |Don’t understand how you can get a roast dinner so wrong one of the easiest meals to make and it wasn’t even busy. I’ve had a better meal at a carvery, and there’s even a sign saying home made 😭 |Only decent thing I had here was a pint of Guinness, shame really as it’s a really nice old fashioned boozer.

Just popped in for a drink and a bite to eat while the little one was at her class next door.
Firstly an excellent pint of proper ale. Definitely a promising start. Then I selected the small roast of the day at £7.99. I decided on the gammon thinking this would be a sensible choice. Clearly whatever meat you pick will have to be reheated.
The meal came and thank goodness I didn't go large. 2 thick slices of gammon, Yorkie pud, roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, cauli and cabbage. Just excellent value for money.
My oh had picked the veg lasagna. This wasn't the best and lots of cheese on it. I might have knocked off half a star if it was possible but it's not unusual for the veggies choice not to be that great.
Can't comment on the accommodation but as a pub that does food I would recommend.

As hubby and I had worked late in the local area we both decided to have a bite to eat here before heading home. So glad we chose to eat here.||On entering the pub we were given a warm welcome from the landlord who we later found out was called Bob. He was very jolly, friendly, helpful and smartly dressed. Our drinks order was taken and these were brought over to the table along with some menus.||We both had the homemade soup of the day which was vegetable, very thick, creamy and extremely delicious for our starter. Hubby then had the homemade lasagne served with garlic bread, it looked and he said it tasted great. I had the gammon and all the trimmings which was cooked to perfection. All the meals were served on hot plates which we like, presented well and very ample sized portions. It was obvious that all was homemade, non of this microwave rubbish and we must pass on our compliments to the chef. We were both too stuffed to have or even share a sweet but the selection on offer looked mouth watering!||The pub although not over busy had a lovely atmosphere to it, was clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. All drinks and meals were very reasonably priced and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.||On finding out that they also have hotel rooms above which are reasonably priced we have planned a return visit in the near future.||We can highly recommend anyone calling in here for a bite to eat or even just for a drink and look forward to returning there ourselves.

Where to start, easy look elsewhere! We compared on Google & decided on this one as advertised free breakfast & wifi, well neither were an option well WIFI is in public area in pub not rooms, went down for breakfast at time suggested by welcome book & we should have prebooked also it was not included! We could pay extra so found a cheap cafe! Also NO hot water or heating on at night so had to use a small electric heater in subzero temps! Just got told it was a mistake by Google with regards to breakfast! Sadly won't be heading back didn't bother going back to try n mention about other issues as the staff didn't seem to bothered about the place.

Food was spot on & absolutely lovely, clearly home cooked & not microwaved like some places, so compliments to the chef!! Unfortunately the bar staff didn’t appear very welcoming, a smile costs nothing & makes so much difference, this was a shame because with the right level of hospitality this would be a fantastic place. I would’ve given a 5 star review as it is a very lovely looking place with heaps of potential, lovely beer garden too in the right weather. I will return & hopefully will give my next visit a 5 star review

Didn't stay here just popped in for some food and drinks. Service abrupt. Told half hour wait on food orders ..55 mins later it arrived. Gravy extremely salty and the chips were over cooked. Server did nothing but complain how busy it was and was seriously frazzled and appeared to be on her own . Cleaning tables then running to serve food then back behind the bar. No sauces offered . Issue over cutlery and spoken to like a 5 year old . Wouldn't return to this pub if we were in the area again. Ruined the end of our holiday. Had to travel home feeling hungry and horrible taste from the gravy. Disappointed as the food that was served to others while we were waiting looked really good .

Popped into Brigg to take our minds off of loosing our dog. Decided to have a bite to eat and chose this venue. I had the omlette, my husband had a madras curry. Both meals were spot on and very well presented, the service was excellent, the staff were very friendly despite being extremely busy preparing a buffet. The atmosphere was so nice, we'll definitely return.
