Stayed here for 1 night as I travelled upto the area for a wedding. Staff are so friendly and kind, we didn't use our room for anything else than for sleeping in which was totally fine. Clean towels ect upon arrival our room was absolutely freezing when we first came in but there was a heater available in the room to warm up quickly. Tea & coffee facilities in the room are also a bonus. Lovely breakfast received in the morning also. Thank you to the staff for being so accommodating 🙂

The Manor Arms is an off-the-beaten track inn in the Somerset countryside. I was there to stay the night before a wedding.
The hotel is reasonably good value and the rooms are comfortable, but no more. They have been tastefully decorated but at the same time are a squeeze. It had a bit of a budget feel to it with the bathroom quite obviously crammed into an existing room.
The night's sleep was comfortable and the beds were great; a lot of light came in through the curtain though so I'd bring an eye mask if that bothered you.
Service was pretty good and the breakfast was very good. They were, however, unable to cope with us wanting to sit near our friends who were with us and I felt like we were intruding on them. I imagine large groups of people might be unusual.
All in all it depends what you're looking for as to whether this suits. If you need space or modern looking rooms with all the conveniences this isn't for you. But if you're looking for a great value place to stay in the countryside, perhaps as a stop off, this suits just fine.

We spent one night as part of a tour. Great welcome from Jimmy . Our room was attractive, comfortable and clean with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. It's a 10 minute walk to Branscombe beach. The bar has a lovely log fire...great for an autumnal visit. We are in the restaurant. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The menu (although fish-heavy) was good and we enjoyed our meal. Big portions. Breakfast was good too

Booked here as I was coming to the area for a friends wedding. Located in a stunning village. The staff are so welcoming and friendly made us feel very welcome. We only used our room to sleep in our room was freezing upon arrival but there was a small heater in the room to help fix that issue. We had zero signal whatsoever (vodafone) the TV only had radio channels but wasn't nothing to complain about as we don't really watch tv. Tea & coffee in the room was a added bonus and clean towels ect. Room was clean and fine for what we needed. Had a lovely breakfast in the morning before our big drive back home. All in all a nice stay thank you to the hosts for making us feel welcome 😊

I spent three nights at the Manor arms and had a very pleasant stay.
We had the only dog friendly room and paid £5 per night which I think is very reasonable as I’ve been charged that much on a campsite.
A nice English breakfast and a comfortable room with satellite tv.
The owner was very helpful and suggested a couple of places to visit including cider apple orchards a couple of minutes away and a good place to walk my dog.
It’s located in a lovely village a couple of miles from Crewkerne.

We were only staying the one night as we were "on tour"... The two ladies at the bar were very welcoming, there were some nice real ales on the bar too. Our room (The Coachman's) was basic but clean and comfortable. It wasn't anything special but for the price and for our purpose it did the job. ||||We didn't have an evening meal as we had planned to spend the evening in Beaminster, so I can't comment on the cooking but the menu looked great and breakfast was fine. ||||If you just want somewhere to lay your head for not too much money, it's great, but if you're looking for a special treat...keep looking. It could do with some investment to be honest, but what pubs and hotels have enough money to do it?

Made a change to stay somewhere that wasn't modern. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Whilst the rooms are a little basic, they are clean and tidy. Service at breakfast was good. We had a 3 night stay and it was thoroughly enjoyable and a useful base to explore some of Dorset. Don't expect 5 star luxury and you shouldn't be disappointed

Cheap rates and pretty basic room facilities. Landlady a little brusque but friendly enough deep down. Rooms dated, but clean linen. Bed ok. Breakfast... Slightly stale cereal, sliced bread toast. Didn't try the cooked breakfast. But.... Good value for a cheap over night stop 🙂.
