I've been several times with friends. Excellent hydro spa, food and activities. All included in the price. Just pay extra for crafting materials. Lots of sports to do. For all ages and abilities. They even do guides walks on the moors at mo extra cost. There are great deals in the off season too just sign up to the newsletter.

The activities are the highlight. The food is quite dry. We're not sure why they don't source meat from local butchers. The entertainment was okay. The room has mould in the corners and we found a dirty sock behind the drawers. It's a good stay and kept us entertained despite this.

Hotel room is basic as they claim, but came for the range of activities which did not disappoint!

I will say though that the app they are meant to be launching cannot come soon enough. Hard to believe but currently all activities are run and booked off a paper sheet in the activity room. To play table tennis for example, you walk to the activity room to see if the table is available then book on a sheet of paper, then get bats and ball from reception, then make the walk to the hall.

The grounds at manor house are incredibly sparse so in order to plan and change your itinerary you need to physically walk to the activity room when you need to make a plan or alteration.

I appreciate a large portion of the visitors are older but speeding up the implementation of this tech would help save them long walks

Such good value. Really enjoyed the crafts and the tuition was very good. To have full board was a real bonus and the food was varied and plentiful. Would recommend this as a great place to go. We will definitely be back and for a longer visit next time.

My recent stay at The Manor Hotel was absolutely wonderful, exceeding all my expectations yet again. This was my third visit to the hotel, and the second time for our whole family, and it just reinforced why we love it so much. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the range of activities and the welcoming atmosphere.
I particularly loved the craft sessions. Trying needle felting for the first time was a revelation – I'm now hooked and have already bought some kits to continue at home! The resin seascape workshop was equally brilliant, and something I'd always wanted to try.
The food was another highlight. There was plenty of choice, and I was especially impressed by how accommodating the hotel was with my gluten-free needs. It made dining out a stress-free pleasure.
Evening entertainment is something I usually avoid on holiday, as I find it can be too crowded and noisy. However, at The Manor Hotel, the atmosphere was completely different. The tables were nicely spaced, so it never felt overcrowded, and the volume was just right. We loved that our 15-year-old could join in with the bingo and quiz nights – it made it a truly family-friendly experience.
The sheer variety of activities on offer was incredible. We were busy from morning till night, and I was pleasantly exhausted by the end of each day! The hotel was also spotlessly clean throughout, which was a real plus. The staff were, for the most part, very friendly and helpful.
I did have a couple of constructive suggestions, but nothing that warranted a public complaint. I've already passed these on in a private email to the hotel, as I believe that's the most appropriate way to offer feedback.
Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic time at The Manor Hotel and can't wait to return. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun-filled and relaxing break, and especially to families - it's clearly a place we keep coming back to!

We've been coming here in January as a group for 15 years. It's incredibly good value, especially when you factor in generous discounts that are available. It's full board, a reasonably priced bar and all the sports you can imagine. There are 2 linked hotels within a couple of miles and you can use the facilities at both. The Ashbury has loads of golf plus plenty of other facilities but we usually stay at the Manor House. It's got a couple of pools, a spa, tennis, football, pickleball, squash, badminton, table tennis, bowls, 10 pin bowling, archery, snooker..loads more. That's not to mention all the craft workshops. It's position on the edge of Dartmoor is fantastic for walking. The meals are all buffet style and, though not gourmet, are all well prepared with plenty of choice. Above all that, the staff are excellent. Always helpful and engaged, they really make an effort of make your stay a great one. If you're looking for a boutique hotel experience, this may not be for you but If you like to be active, there is no better place.

Had an Absolutely brilliant time. Value for money. Crafts were absolutely fabulous. Only 2 small things that you could improve on. The bed was hard so maybe a mattress topper could be offered and maybe you could offer juice at lunch instead of having it locked.

Excellent facilities, well maintained. Rooms a little dated but there seems to be an updating programme ongoing. Staff and food very good, just need more veggie/vegan options with salads and wraps.
