We stayed overnight for the News Years Eve Gala night and it was fantastic. We stayed in the Cleveland Suite and it was absolutely beautiful. We had snacks in the bar when we arrived and the chips were amazing! |The entertainment on the evening was perfect and suited all ages, not easy to do! The bag piper was fantastic and great way to see the New Year in. The gala buffet was stunning with a lot of choice and variety. The desserts were mouthwatering and the cheese board finished it off perfectly. Great night's sleep and lovely breakfast the following morning. Well done to all the staff xx

Went for the Sunday carvery
My mum has been twice before and loved it, the restaurant was getting refurbished so lunch was served to the bar, unfortunately not carvery style. The roast, mash and spuds were served on the main plate with veg and gravy separate, the main plate food was barely warm, the veg hot, and the gravy lukewarm, we were all hungry so we ate the food, it was delicious, I assume once the carvery is up and running the food will be as good as it previously was.

Clean rooms, well fitted and good temperature .. room service daily (yeah I know...unheard of these days). Food in restaurant and breakfast is good. Has a bar (big and public) with good range of drinks.
Staff are great, friendly and helpful. 24x7 desk for customers. Overall a nice place and reasonable rates.

Came for a rock and roll bingo night, stayed the night instead of trying to get home! The rooms are clean and lovely. Plenty of pillows and comfy bed. Bathroom was well stocked, clean and modern.
The best thing however was the staff, friendly and welcoming, nothing is a bother and there is always someone around if you need the help.
Great night, bingo was fun. Breakfast was fab! Thank you

I can’t rate this hotel enough I have stayed here many times for work and each time has been a pleasure.
The rooms are nice and cosy the staff are helpful and the food is amazing the overall value for money is perfect. Just remember to register your car in the car park to avoid a fine.

It's a good place good food. The person we spoke to had a bit of a chip on their shoulders. For some reason, they were very blunt and had an unfriendly air about them not good for front of house staff, so not 5 stars.

Ive had some fun of late finding hotels to stop at that are off the beaten track so to speak. As much as a Travelodge is useful they are generally quite soulless. ||And once every now and then you come across a complete gem. ||The Marine Hotel is one of those. ||The place itself is absolutely lovely, situated nicely on the beachfront in Hartlepool, its old school but full of character. The ceilings in the bar area are super high and the food is hearty and potions large. ||But it’s the staff that make this place. They have a tough time having to run between the bar and the reception check in but they are fun, attentive and in some cases downright brilliant. I personally witnessed the night watchman take it upon himself to aid a man from Germany whos company had screwed him putting him in a hotel whose check in closed at 9pm and who didn’t have a room for the night. Despite the Marine being full, the lad rand dozens of hotels in the area to find the guy somewhere to stay eventually succeeding. Most others would have washed their hands, this guy restored faith in humans (just sorry with my stupid brain I forgot his name! I THINK it was Andy?!?! lol! If you are reading this sorry mate!) ||Oh and to top it off they have Caffereys on tap. I hadn’t had a pint of that since 2005. ||Amazing place and if I head back to the ‘pool I will be returning.

Room was very clean and cold on arrival. Went out for a few hours . Great location. Close to beach . Came back room was still cold . Went and asked at reception to please put the heating on as our room is cold . Apparently after checking there was air bubble that stopped the heating coming on . Reception and bar was very warm though . Sorted out and we had heating . Under staffed . Food was lovely . Had a breakfast in the mornings .
