A great place to stay

We saw the midland years ago before it was reopened and had been meaning to go back and finally did.

Outstanding location, plenty of parking. Really interesting rooms, superbly friendly staff and very excellent food - in particular the venison, slow braised beef, hummus and we heard lots of positives from other guests with other dishes plus breakfast was also cooked to order with lots of choice and great quality

The only reason for the dropped star is that the building is in need of some work. The exterior needs a repair and refresh and the dining room whilst hugely impressive with its views out to see is evidently suffering at the moment and when the wind gets up, the top floor suites can be noisy - but the views are worth it

The room was amazing. The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentative. Car parking facilities were perfect. The repairs to the roof of the terrace, which is the main dining area did detract a little in terms of noise and lack of air conditioning despite the hot sun. The staff were amazing given such difficulties. Once finished everything will be back to its usual perfection. Next time we will stay for several nights - such excellent value for money, in this wonderful art deco building with tangible connections to its glorious past.

My husband is an art deco enthusiast and the Midland did not let him down where this was concerned.||Apart from the renovations that are currently being done, the staff service was excellent. ||Everyone had a smile on their face and we were made to feel vey welcome. We had our evening meal in the restaurant both nights of our stay and could not fault any of it. The food was delicious! ||A big thank you to all the staff!!!!

We enjoyed a Sunday lunch in the Midland overlooking Morecambe Bay.
The food was excellent and service prompt and friendly.
While the wonderful architecture of the hotel takes one back to the 1930’s and one half expects to see Poirot sitting in the lounge there was another feature which impressed more.
The Hotel management are to be commended on recruiting and training a remarkable group of young people to serve in the restaurant. They were helpful, professional, friendly and efficient. As someone who, back in the day worked with young people, it was a real joy to see.
Congratulations!

Fabulous place a stunning building in the most perfect location. Stayed for 5 nights in a double bedroom with a sea view and balcony. Room perfect with all amenities. Dining room has good views although a little warm on nights there is no cloud cover but not hotels fault Food very good. I tried a different meal each night. Staff are amazing.

First time staying at the midland hotel and we wasn't disappointed at all. We booked into a signature room on the third floor, we had the most amazing views and the room was lovely.
We were looked after by a very efficient, hard working team of young staff !!! Very impressed with all of them.
We was here for breakfast, which was lovely, everything you could possibly want was available to order and served to us promptly after ordering.
Evening meals was of a very high standard, a good selection on the menu to choose from.
We would highly recommend this lovely hotel for your stay. Once again a big thankyou to all the very young staff who looked after us a credit to the hotel !!!

A Dining Experience to Remember at The Midland Hotel Restaurant, Morecambe

From the moment we stepped into The Midland Hotel Restaurant, we were captivated—not just by the Art Deco elegance, but by the breathtaking panoramic sea views that stretch endlessly across Morecambe Bay. As the sun began its descent, casting golden hues over the water, we knew we were in for a special evening.

The atmosphere is refined yet welcoming, with attentive staff who strike just the right balance between professionalism and warmth. But it was the food that truly stole the show. The standout dish for me was the slow-cooked braised beef tender, rich, and full of deep, comforting flavour. Each bite melted effortlessly, paired beautifully with creamy mash.

Dining here felt less like a meal and more like a serene coastal experience, Whether you're a local or just passing through, a visit to The Midland Hotel Restaurant is an absolute must. We'll certainly be returning.

This is the saddest review I’ve ever had to write! What on earth have The Inn Collection done to this beloved Morecambe icon? It’s a disaster! We have dined here many times in the past and taken classy afternoon teas in the sun terrace. We arrived to find the place a building site. The gorgeous a la carte menu & crisp table linen are no more, replaced with over priced pub grub, ordering at the bar & wipe clean bar tables……hideous & not in keeping with this once beautiful art deco hotel. We had booked an evening meal for 2 nights running but on seeing the state of the place & perusing the menu, we promptly cancelled both bookings & went elsewhere. The 1 star is awarded to the long suffering staff member in the rotunda bar who was left to manage a busy lunchtime shift on his own poor chap (who deserved a medal!) otherwise the review would have been zero stars!!! DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HOLD HAPPY MEMORIES OF THE “OLD MIDLAND” HOTEL AS YOUR MEMORIES WILL BE TARNISHED FOREVER!!! Deeply saddening & upsetting 😢
