I stayed only one night, but I thoroughly loved my stay and will definitely stay there again if I have to be in Cambridge.||The accommodation contacted me a few times before arrival with helpful info, but warned me not to arrive from 1-2pm when they would be at lunch. Nonetheless, when I arrived before two the nice Ukrainian receptionist let me check in immediately. She was very well informed about the sights of Cambridge. I only had one day there, so I was keen to use my time well, and I ended up following all of her advice regarding punting, eating, sights, and had a wonderful time in the city.||My room was up narrow staircases, but the bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The room (an building as a whole) was very warm, which was ok when I opened the window, but really it is unnecessary to heat so much in April.||There is a large, spotless kitchen on the ground floor with full cooking possibilities and two fridges. The room has free toiletries and water and cookies.||Exceptional guest house.

Tas Suites had a very friendly receptionist when I arrived. The location is excellent for central Cambridge - a short walk over Parker’s Piece. There are useful communal kitchen facilities offering free tea and coffee and providing washing machine, fridge and cooker for those bringing their own food. ||The bed in my room was very comfortable. ||Any problems? - only small irritations. But it is the small things that matter. ||The heat control for my shower was jammed so virtually impossible to turn. The small bottles of shampoo almost impossible to open, the plug in the basin did not fit. ||But I have stayed here before and will do do again as the price is reasonable given its location and the room comfy for a good nights sleep.

Would definitely recommend. Stayed for one night. Good location. Room was very clean and had everything I needed. Shower looked brand new and plenty of hot water. Had many facilities including fan and hairdryer in room. Good quality towels and bedding. Easy check in

Firstly the positives. This accommodation is in a great location - convenient for the city centre but also right in the vibrant Petersfield district. It was also reasonably priced, but not cheap by any means. Our room had a great shower, with plenty of hot water (even though there was mould on the ceiling.) the room was at the back of the building and was fairly quiet - apart from being able to hear the person in the room next door in their bathroom. And the receptionist on our arrival was friendly, (however we later learned that the reception staff are not empowered to resolve problems). Unfortunately that’s where the positives end. ||Negatives: our room smelled really bad of damp and/or drains. The stench hit us as soon as we entered the room, and that was despite the window being wide open - on a cold day - and we had to leave it open for our whole stay. It was situated in the attic so damp was no doubt penetrating through the roof (the walls were badly damaged with damp) but we suspect the drains were the main cause. The room was small and cramped and the bed was below a very low sloping ceiling - I banged my head several times and also kept stubbing my toes on the bed frame. For a double room there was only a bedside table and lamp on one side - the other side was right next to the entrance door. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, a mattress with zero support, a duvet that was too small to be shared by two people and we found clumps of hair on one of the pillows before we used it. The room wasn’t dirty but it was grubby and shabby. |Our biggest complaint is that guests on one side of the building are given a master key to access the building out of hours, but those on the other side are just given a code to unlock the door, which included us. When we got back on our first night at around 11pm, the code would not unlock the door (despite us following the instructions we were given). There is a ring doorbell, but we got no response from that. We called the “24/7” help number and got no response, and no call back despite us leaving messages. We were stuck outside on the street in the cold for almost an hour and were about to go find another hotel to book into, when some other guests with a key arrived and let us in. Once inside we discovered that the code lock had been deadlocked on the inside, so of course it would not open from outside. The following day we tried to resolve this with the receptionist, who was unable to help. She called the person in charge to ask if we could have a key, since we were going to be out late again that evening. She informed us that we could not have a key. We asked to speak to the person in charge, which we did, and they resolutely refused to provide us with a key. When we said that wasn’t good enough, they hung up the phone on us. I’ve read in other reviews that this establishment is not good at resolving problems for guests and this is exactly what we experienced. We never got a return call, or an apology or any offers to resolve the problem. We were treated like a nuisance, and worse with disrespect. I do not recommend this accommodation.

The worst place we stayed in our 2 weeks in England. The room was tiny and the bath was so small I could barely move. To be fair I’m 6’2” and 225 lb . The carpets have been here since I’m sure the 16th century. My biggest complaint was the bed, it is totally rubbish ( room 3 ) we hardly slept in our 2 nights and now my sciatica is acting up. This could be a nice little hotel if the owners put a bit of care and attention into it. Oh the kitchen was nice and overall the room was clean and towels were also. But in my eyes if the bed is bad and you can’t get a good sleep why bother. Would never book here again.

Helpful friendly staff Fully equipped communal kitchen .Very good location 15 minutes from train station and easy walk into city, colleges, river, museums etc Lots of chain and independent bars, restaurants and coffee shops near by . Bedroom carpet would benefit from a shampoo, but otherwise extremely clean throughout. Pillows a little lumpy.and walls quite thin so some neighbour noise and traffic noise from busy road but good value for area.

Cute little studio. Lovley kitchen and quiet location. Bare in mind when reading bad reviews this was the cheapest option in the whole Cambridge and totally worth it. Close to the town centre, shops and station. The reception was.kind to look after my lost property until i sorted the delivery. Thanks guys I will be seeing you again.

Spotlessly clean attic room with en-suite. Some noise from the street and through the thin walls to the room next door but otherwise excellent. A very good price for such good accommodation so close to the centre of Cambridge. Kitchen facilities very good though as someone older visiting my granddaughter I would have liked to have a kettle in the room but that is a minor criticism of what is excellent value for money accommodation. Staff also very courteous and helpful.
