Had a wonderful long weekend stay at the Moorland Hotel with my wife and our dog.
The dog friendly room we stayed in was very clean but smaller than we were hoping for.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
We had the best carvery ever here on the Sunday and would very much recommend. In fact, all the meals were top class.
Nice location to walk the Tors around Dartmoor.
Thanks for our stay. Would love to come back again sometime.

Had a lovely experience this morning, for my daughter's 18th. We stopped by for a champagne breakfast. Food was delicious. And the service was impeccable. A special thank you to James. So polite and attentive. You really made our breakfast experience special. Thank you also for the unexpected birthday plate with candle. A lovely touch.

What a place. You are lucky working in a place like this. We came to a wedding weekend and everything was faultless. I cannot thank you enough for looking after my cousins weddiing.food..excellent.. catering wonderful. I think i found one of my happy places having breakfast in the conservatory. We will be back again you can bet.

We had a birthday breakfast for my daughter. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. Especially the lad who served us, James. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much for making it so special. We will be back!!

We booked for an overnight stay on our way down to Cornwall. The hotel is located just down from rocks of Haytor on Dartmoor and has been transformed by their owners. We were very impressed at the way the hotel was managed. The owners have obviously invested heavily in the hotel, not only in the bedrooms, public rooms and furnishings but also in the training of their staff. You have the flexibility of dining either in their main restaurant overlooking the gardens or their Pub which is cleverly integrated into the hotel itself. We chose to eat in the main restaurant and were impressed by the standard of food served both in the evening and for breakfast. Our room was one of their Superior King ensuite rooms which are very well furnished with Nespresso Coffee, Robert’s DAB radio and Dyson hairdryer. We will certainly return and stay longer next time.

I wanted to say a massive thank you to the manager and chef +all staff. It was my mums 80th birthday all my family came for a birthday meal in our own separate room about 20 of us . Food was amazing, a lot of us stayed the night. The rooms were spotless and lovely decorated. Then in morning we all had breakfast. They catered for our every need. Nothing was too much. My mum had the best time and said it was her best birthday. Thank you all you made it very special.

This was a surprise trip that I planned for my husband's birthday .and it did not disappoint. The room had everything we needed .but the best thing was the amazing ! View ...so peaceful listening to the birds in the morning and watching the sunrise from our bedroom window .the food was good and the staff were very polite and attentive originally we booked for 2 nights but decided to book another as we loved it so much .even tho we have to change rooms . We will definitely be back .

This establishment epitomises the promise of an excellent all round hospitality experience. Well appointed rooms, thoughtfully furnished and decorated lounge/conservatory/ bar areas with mood enhancing lighting to create a welcoming ambience. Extensive variety of beverages and good meals. Meticulous attention to detail throughout to create a pleasurable atmosphere for guests and little touches of welcome in rooms to give a personal feel. The manager and his staff provide first rate service and work extremely hard to give customers their best. I would highly recommend a visit to this hotel. Conveniently located on the edge of a stunning moorland environment. The hotel has a lovely garden and generally has
good facilities to cater for guests.
