Being fairly local we are lucky enough to be able to visit The Nest quite regularly. The food is always superb and the staff are brilliant! A special mention to the team who really do go above and beyond in all aspects. They are so good with my 4 year old daughter who is always excited to see them! We look forward to many more visits… A real hidden gem in a beautiful village.

Stopped in on a Saturday evening for dinner after a long walk. The menu was a revelation, more than your normal pub grub. The food didn't disappoint. Excellent food, friendly and efficient staff and a nice atmosphere. An unexpected delight!

You definitely experience the best at The Nest! |We have been to The Nest several times now, my husband and I just love it. It is owned by a lovely family who are extremely welcoming & friendly. Always has a great atmosphere, love their music and is very cosy. I am gluten free and near enough all of the menu is gluten free, so for me this is paradise. We also love their lunch deal menu where you can have two courses for £17 or three courses for £22, such a great value. We visited last Sunday with our family for a Sunday Roast, absolutely delicious, we all said that it is the best roast that we have had in years. Myself being gluten free could even have the roast dinner. (The big bonus was that I could have the gravy, sausage & apricot stuffing, cauliflower cheese as it was all gluten free, I also received a gluten free Yorkshire pudding). To finish I had the homemade raspberry & lemon-curd cheese (all gluten free), absolutely delicious. We will be back very soon, hopefully we will attend their new monthly taste the world night in March (French night) as it sounds wonderful! Thank you to all the staff at The Nest.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights as part of a wedding party. The room and food were lovely on the first night, though we were surprised that the bar closed at 10:30 p.m. despite most of the hotel being booked by our group. Tensions began when staff complained about hairdressers and photographers on the wedding day. Things took a turn for the worse upon our return from the wedding when we were met with a hostile attitude from the owners, particularly over noise—even though it was a wedding celebration.

The unwelcoming reception late that night left a sour taste, and we left early the next morning. While the hotel itself, its location, and the food were fine, the owners’ attitude—especially the husband’s—was unacceptable. He made an offensive and inappropriate comment as we were leaving, which was deeply upsetting. The daughter was polite and professional, but overall, the experience with the management was enough to make us strongly recommend avoiding this place.

Visiting Petersfield, it's deservedly listed 5* on a 'Gluten-Free' site. 3rd April), seated in luxurious cushioned corner overlooking the whole restaurant. Service attentive, polite and friendly. Atmosphere convivial. Food superb, hot, crisp and varied. No restrictions nor objections. Would stay in future, definitely!

Utterly disappointing. Please think twice when booking a room on this place. I have checked-in to a lot of hotels/airbnbs/guest houses and this is the worst experience I’ve ever had! We stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding. It’s such a shame ‘coz our first night was amazing but it took a down turn. Never felt so unwelcomed, it sucked the happiness away from us after attending a wonderful event. Owner even told me to watch out for my husband and his friend’s sexuality. I was gobsmacked. They seem to get very rude when you are not their ‘perfect’ guests.

What an absolutely classy and attentive family run restaurant. STUNNING. Could not recommend highly enough, especially for GLUTEN FREE like me and Mum. No complaints whatsoever, tasty food, lovely staff. We will be back. 6 of us ate no problems, staff were friendly and happily spoke through everything.Resturant is elegant and decorated well. Sunday roast lunch is a stalwart of British cuisine. It can be a a marvellous dish or it can be cardboard.

Here at The Nest we were treated to a marvellous dish. Excellent and attentive service and a great pint of Flowerpots ale for me and white wine (don’t ask me questions about the wine - I’m more focused on “is the beer good”) for my wife.

Warm, comfortable and welcoming it’s a somewhat different layout to the bare wood furniture that we seen in most country pubs in the county. But we must remember that this establishment marks itself as a boutique hotel and restaurant and it certainly meets its remit perfectly.

Try it you won’t be disappointed.
