My wife, my brother, and I had a lovely meal here on our recent visit to Northallerton. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. |My wife and my brother had the pie of the day with mashed potatoes and veg, and I had the Hot Spicy Fishcakes. The only negative about my meal was that it came with vegetables (broccoli and cabbage), which didn't really match up with the rest of the dish. It would have been better if the vegetables had complimented the rest of the dish. |However, we would 100% dine her again the next time we are visiting the area.

All of the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Rooms are great, decent size and comfortable - fantastic showers if you like that kind of thing!! Food is really good, we had a lovely evening meal and breakfast. For both, lovely service and good choices. Would happily return in the future.

Bathroom was a wet room. Unfortunately the floor is uneven so water does not drain but floods the room up to the toilet. The wash basin is very small, the showers are in need of replacement as the don't work well. Bar service was poor, the barman didn't know how to pour a pint and was obviously not enjoying his work. Poor choice of cask beers. Evening meal was good but again poorly served. Breakfast was good and much better service.|| We have been here at least 3 times in the last 3 years and each time the standard is dropping. Won't be staying here again.

Lovely hotel, very clean and well presented. Great facilities, Good food and reasonably priced. Only negative was my tv would not work l, I approached the staff and was pretty much told yeah the WiFi is terrible in that room and there’s nothing they can do. Still decent value for money just a shame the tv let them down and also failed to be accountable

I had the most unpleasant and bizarre experience here. I stayed for one night 10/3/25 and 23/3/25.
When I checked in on the 10th, I enquired about Vegan breakfast choices and they could not tell me how the mushrooms and tomatoes are prepared. In the morning, I sat at my favourite table (I have been a few times before) where there were two sticky, dirty glasses, from the night before I guess, and waited 15 minutes for service. There were two blonde employees sat behind me chatting all this time and no one came to me, so I asked the older one for the menu and she said it was self service. I went to the bar and on enquiring, the lad could not tell me whether the mushrooms and tomatoes were cooked in oil or butter. I asked if he could find out and he seemed perplexed by my request so I went to M&S for some breakfast. On the second visit I checked in after 3pm and was kept waiting whilst the miserable staff member went off to see if my room was ready. Weirdly, I was allocated one of the tatty rooms the staff use. In the evening, whilst sitting up in bed, I heard a member of staff in the next room, moving slowly about, obviously trying to listen- creepy!
In the morning after itching and scratching, I removed the quilt from the cover and as you can see from the photos, it was disgusting.
I love this hotel and it is the only place in Northallerton I would want to stay. I still have no idea why I was treated with such disrespect.

I paid £240 per night for a delux double room, No. 29. After the first night it was clear that I was in an inferior room. This was admitted by the manager and he refunded £80 which brought my per night cost to £200. Even this was too high as I discovered the rate on Booking.com was £150 for the superior room and the Manager did inform me that booking that day directly with the hotel would be £169/night!||I feel that between yourselves and Booking.com I have been totally ripped off and the situation made worse in my wife and I having to spend two nights in an inferior room to the one we had booked. I would request a refund therefore to take my cost to £150 per night.

I had an amazing stay at the Northallerton Inn — it’s easily one of the best-looking bars I’ve seen in the area. The rooms are cozy, the food is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is just right. A special shoutout to Louis, who was incredibly welcoming and gave me great tips on all the must-visit spots around town.

Also, if you're a cocktail fan, make sure to ask for Alex. He’s a true magician behind the bar and really knows his craft. You won't be disappointed!

Visited for a birthday lunch yesterday. Restaurant was very quiet but we waited over 45 minutes for our meals, 2 of which were salads! Staff were dismissive when we questioned the wait.
Food was disappointing when it arrived.
Caesar salad consisted of lettuce, anchovies, croutons - £12.95!! For an extra £4 I got pre-bought breadcrumb covered processed Halouimi sticks.
I visit The Northallerton inn alot, but this experience has really put me off. Very expensive and very disappointing.
