A bit of a middling experience.

First of all it's in a lovely location and the interior is well decorated, has a nice vibe and the staff are very friendly.

I'd also like to say that our waitress Jamie-Lea was very friendly and attentive and managed to memorise all our orders - which is always impressive.

The food however was a bit of a mixed bag. They're were 7 of us and two of the meals were disappointing. The meat pie had two pieces of meat in it and the Gnocchi was just too salty to be edible. We did complain about the Gnocchi and it was explained this is probably the Miso sauce giving a salty taste (but it was so salty it's hard to believe it was meant to be that way.) they replaced the meal without question but unfortunately the only option was a bowl of mash which was a little unsatisfying. Appreciate that we weren't charged for the Gnocchi or the mash - but for the price of the food we had expected more. Overall we enjoyed our visit but I just can't justify giving more than 3 stars on this occasion.

Please note they add a 10% tip to the bill - although it's optional - I don't like this method of rewarding the waitress/staff.

This adorable pub/hotel is absolutely amazing. Great food, extremely friendly staff and lovingly decorated rooms. It's a shame we were only here for such a short time. Highly recommended! Thank you for the lovely stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Northey Arms whilst on a trip to Bath. This is a very well managed pub with very high standards. The room where we stayed was in the station annex and although we heard the trains, it was very comfortable in every way. The food surpassed our expectations and was wonderful as was the excellent breakfast. Staff were also great, friendly and helpful. The manager, Lucy, is an asset to this group and we will definitely stay here again, as well as seeking out other Butcombe brewery pubs.

Absolutely fabulous stay at the Northey Arms. We were greeted with a warm welcome and were given a cosy, beautifully presented room in the main building. The quality of toiletries and tea/coffee was excellent and we enjoyed the benefit of a fan in the room as it was a particularly warm evening. Little touches like the radio playing soothing music as we came into the room, made us feel at home. We enjoyed a lovely dinner, and although the kitchen appeared under pressure as it was an unusually busy Monday evening, the food arrived well presented and tasty. Breakfast was excellent (although warmer plates) and perhaps a side plate for the toast and butter would have made it even more enjoyable. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

Great hotel with an excellent family room for three. Spacious and everything we needed was found in the room (TV, coffee, etc). Also liked the interior very much, the only downside was the frequent train traffic that goes 24/7 (also at 3:30 at night) .

We were warmly welcomed on arrival and were very well looked after by Jamie- Lea during dinner. A delicious meal in a lovely pub with a good atmosphere. An added bonus was the 25% off food on Wednesdays!
