Update ** I do not believe they are still serving food!

Hadn't been back for a year or more, what a change! Redecorated, new furniture, good selection of beers and an upgraded menu. We all had the burger which was fantastic. Voted best burger in Petersfield... By us but we have tried them all! Well worth a visit. (not the best burger anymore! The Burger at the George has now taken top spot!)

Outstanding first class service, absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Harry went above and beyond and we were and are really grateful especially given the reason for our stay.

When needing a room in Petersfield, we have no reason not to stay here again, 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

Thank you to all the staff that worked during our stay xx

A wonderfully welcoming spot right in the center of town with a warm fire, delicious beverages (both beers and the coffee is exquisite) and great food. The rooms as cozy and you really feel like the place has been there since the beginning of time. That said, the rooms feel fresh and clean and the beds are comfy. While currently not dog-friendly, we understand there's plans to bring some rooms online which would allow four-legged guests to be as welcome as the two-legged ones.

We love having breakfast here. Dogs are welcome. Its clean and warm. Great friendly service. Food is fantastic and prices are really good. Lovely smoothies. Our dog enjoyed his bacon and sausage. Looking forward to trying their Sunday lunch. They cater well for gluten free also.

We received a very warm welcome in the bar before being shown to our room. The bedroom was extremely pleasant. Great decor and a lovely clean and stylish shower room. Quality bedding too. Breakfast had to be ordered the evening before but the quality and freshness was very good. We stayed on a Sunday night, so unfortunately the restaurant closed at 4pm & the bar closed at 8pm. However there are several quality bars and eateries in the town centre on a Sunday that remain open. ||The bedroom was very quiet with no traffic noise in our room which was at the rear, but I’m not sure what it would be like on a night when the bar was open to late.||Overall we were very pleased with our short stay and would certainly consider The Old Drum again if staying in the area. (Free Car parking was plentiful on the nearby streets although restrictions apply after 9am until 6pm)

Excellent breakfast. I would only change the bread to a fresh sourdough. Everything else was absolutely fabulous. Great service as well. Will be coming back for a dinner as food is really promising. Not to mention the interior and the garden makes it the best looking gasto pub in the area. Well done!

Positives - downstairs pub is stylish, in a good location and the young staff are all v friendly and smiley. When we asked for additional towels or to borrow the iron they were attentive and helpful. Breakfast is decent too.||||Negatives - the 'Deluxe Double' that we booked was not deluxe. This was the terminology on Booking.com, as well as the website itself. Whilst the amenities were suitable and yes the bedroom/bedroom were decorated, the size of it was tiny. My partner and I stayed in Room 1 'Maze', and the pictures you see online are hugely misleading. For two (normal-sized!) people to move around the room wasn't easy. And this is all before mentioning the blind for the window that looks out onto the outdoor terrace doesn't come down all the way, so changing isn't ideal and you are unsurprisingly woken up by the sun! ||||I appreciate it's been incredibly tough for the hospitality industry this year (which I repeatedly said to the owner when I flagged these issues), but I still think it's fair to point out the Old Drum expectation vs reality was a let-down. Owner was defensive (and bizarrely told me it's something I should pick up with Booking.com myself), though it half sounded as though she'd take my feedback on board. Having read other reviews it sounds as though Room 1 'Maze' is the worst room, so I hope for future bookings the hotel are a little more honest and fair with its pricing and advertisement (and maybe see if you can put in a request for a different room if you are interested in booking).

Stayed here on a Saturday, check in was great, very quick and very easy. |Room was really nicely done, quite spacious and the bathroom was also excellent. Had to pre order breakfast and when we had this in the morning it was very good. Service was good .|Bed was very comfy and we had a lovely sleep. It was a bit noisy in the morning but we were above the pub and kitchen, there is no parking but we were able to park on a nearby street which was only a minutes walk. |Well priced and we'll worth a visit, Petersfield is a nice town and this place is a good advert for the town.
