This is a lovely old building, the car park is quite small, but there is another space by Tesco car Park, which hd a car in most of our stay. The garden is very attractive, lovely old fashioned bar, lovely staff and a tasty breakfast. There are glasses and water in the bar, to help yourself, but no water in the room. There is a kettle, I always bring my own tea bags, so can't say what was on offer, I didn't check.

Father's day we had a family meal. It was absolutely delicious. Best Sunday lunch for a long while. Even catered for my husbands needs for change of vegetables. Cooked peas for him and they were plentiful, could serve 2 people. The meat was large portions. The turkey was cooked so tender and moist and the pork. I had the short beef of rib. That was stunning. We struggled to eat it all of it, but too delicious to leave. The soup I had to start was delicious, best tomato soap I have ever had. My husband said the battered tiger prawns were the best he ever had. They also cater for adults who want a smaller meal. A big jug of gravy was given when we asked for extra gravy. . Finally found somewhere to go for Sunday lunch, when we are visiting family in Bristol. Will be eating there every Sunday we are down and also in the week. Nice they stagger the seating. So your meal is being home cooked for you. Sick of eating in restaurants where everyone attends at the same time and then your waiting hours to be served. It was lovely atmosphere. Nice spaced table planning. Only downside is the toilet for ladies is upstairs and no disabled toilet downstairs, but they can't alter the building. But if u take a puff of your inhaler and someone can assist you. It's worth the climb of stairs. Highly recommend. Nice to have different veg, which u wouldn't have at home and you can order extra dishes, like cauliflower cheese. You can order extra Yorkshire and potatoes. But you honestly don't need it. Can't wait to come back for a steak.

Very disappointed booked this hotel in April as we wanted to stay somewhere special whilst visiting Wimbledon for the tennis. 2 days before arriving we were advised our booking was cancelled due to an admin error, why did it take 3 months to work this out it feels they had a better offer and we were just dumped by them at the last minute with very little option to book anywhere else, they have totally spoilt our experience and would not recommend booking here.

Stayed one night and dinner, perfect from checkin to out, I rate places high if they response well to requests or issues.
We hsd booked a front facing room but where shown to a rear facing one which was in sun and very hot, they changed it without question.
Food and service was excellent.
Would recommend and would stay again.

Note hotel carpark is very small and has a narrow entrance probably only big enough for a family car..

6 of us stayed here for 1 night. The hotel has great character, with solid oak beams. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious. There was an issue with 1 of the rooms but this was sorted promptly and efficiently. Breakfast was really good and service was prompt. Will look at staying here again if we’re in the area.

Stopped for lunch. Very pleasant garden, dog friendly and food was very good. A slight misunderstanding over a pastrami sandwich was promptly and pleasantly resolved! Thank you, we will come again.

I'll give this hotel 5 stars. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were lovely. The evening meal and the breakfast were both delicious. It is a very old building in a conservation area so you know what to expect. Very lovely stay.
