Dropped by here for an impromptu Sunday Lunch last week and it was pretty spectacular.

Firstly the Sunday lunch is reasonably priced and great value. The food is simply perfect, roast potatoes outstanding and everything cooked amazingly.

We actually ended up having starters and desserts because the menu was very tempting. We had calamari and chicken ribs both of which were superb. The calamari was the beat I've ever had including by the sea in the med and Asia. The Brownie and cheesecake desserts were also to die for.

I actually can't speak highly enough about the food and we will be back regularly to try the various menus they offer.

The atmosphere in the pub was very welcoming and the Owner/Manager or Front of house man on our visit was friendly, helpful and fun. It was reasonably busy even though it was late but did not feel rushed in overcrowded. Its also a nice that I noticed it is dog friendly for future visits.

All in all it is a really quality place with outstanding food. Highly recommended for anyone in the area for a bar snack or a full meal.

Excellent service, very friendly too.
Our food was beautiful and my curry was tasty..... My wife's dessert was awesome.... I just wish I had ordered one!
Definitely one of the most homely pubs with a gorgeous fireplace and the day we visit there were several very friendly dogs in too.

I booked at short notice because of the bad weather and needed to stay overnight, before driving home the following morning. I found the Old Pheasant on booking.com. I was drawn to the excellent price and high ratings. I was allocated a small single room, overall it was fine. The only gripe about the room, was the bathroom handbasin. It was very small, which would not have been a problem, however it had a shelf just above it, which meant I found it difficult to clean my teeth standing up. But overall adequate for the money. The bar is excellent, the food very good and the staff are faultless. I would recommend The Old Pheasant for both accommodation and food.

Christmas Day Lunch
What can we say except exceptional in all aspects. All staff were extremely friendly, attentive and efficient. We had an absolutely amazing Christmas Lunch, all home cooked and well presented. It was full but only one sitting so no question of being of being rushed out for the next people. A big thank you to all at the Old Pheasant we will definitely be back to see you in the New Year

Last minute booking due to issues with work but what a lovely little place! Quaint and cosy with friendly owners, cute and comfy rooms and a delightful selection for the continental breakfast! I slept so well which is unusual for me but the bed was super comfortable and the room just the right temperature for a cold December evening. Hopefully, I will have reason to return. Last minute booking. Staff extreamly helpful. Lovely property, well appointed, rooms SO comfortable. Food was delicious. front of house and bar staff ( whos name escapes me ...George ) Exceptional, friendly, naturally helpful. Bernard was so easygoing and terrific to work with...I initially had an issue with credit card on making the booking, Bernard reassured me that my booking was good and can deal with everything on arrival. An exceptional stay. Deffinately be back next time im in the country.

Very good. We stayed for a couple of nights. The food was good, the beer was good, the room was comfortable. If I had to find fault, it was with the internet which kept dropping out (didn't spoil the stay though).

This is a review for restaurant only.
Mediocre food not home cooked.
Gutted as a lovely pub that is local and was really pleased to see had reopened.
Staff are amazing and hopefully an off night will try again to see as really hope it's just that.
