My wife and I are visiting Engaland for 2 months from Australia. We stayed 5 nights partly to attend a race at Silverstone and we were so pleased. Only a few miles from the circuit but in a beautiful village with pubs within easy drive also close to Oxford and Blenheim Palace.||Jennifer met us on arrival with a welcome cup of tea and biscuits, just what we needed after a long drive. The room was very comfortable and warm with a lovely hot shower in the mornings followed by a great home cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. This time also gave us a chance to meet and chat with the other guests. In summary, we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks again Jennifer.

Jennifer gave us a warm welcome, with a lovely cup of tea and biscuits, out in her beautiful garden? We met her beautiful dog RUFUS, he is gorgeous and wants to be involved with everything, he is such a softie and I would have loved to have taken him home, but I think Jennifer and my Cats would disapprove? |We had a lovely double room en-suite, on the first floor at the front of the cottage, the view from our window way lovely, there were loads of very large Weeping Willow trees, lined along the Brook. Our en-suite had a shower cubicle, toilet and basin and Jennifer had provided lovely toiletries and soft towels for us. The bed was very comfortable and as it was so hot outside, Jennifer gave us a cooler Duvet and a sheet, in case we were still to hot. The Breakfasts were amazing, though I do not eat cooked breakfast, Ray told me it was wonderful! I was more Intrested in making my own Muesli, with fresh and dried fruit and seeds. There was fruit juice, tea and coffee, cereals, toast, yogurts and cooked breakfasts, with egg of your choice! We had parking for our car, which is a definite for me, as I am disabled! We are staying there next year and I can definitely recommend THE OLD POST COTTAGE! Also next year I will be visiting all the beautiful Villages and there stunning Churches, that date back to Norman times! We ate out a few times in a wonderful family Pub, called The Lion, at Wicken, which is about 10 minutes from The Old Post Cottage. The meals were very good and the prices were brilliant! LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING JENNIFER AND RUFUS IN 2018!

Members of the Focus ST Owners club stayed the night at the old post cottage for the weekend of Ford Fair 2013. The place was amazing, so well kept, bautiful scenery. The B&B was bautiful inside and out and Jennifer was such a loverly host nothing was too much trouble. I recommend that you book all rooms and enjoy all of the facilities Jennifer allowed us the use of the BBQ and garden which was beautiful. Jennifer also allowed us to wash and prepare our cars for Ford Fair which was one of our requirements.||||We'll be staying here for many years to come.

I have travelled the U.K. often but I have never had such an awesome experience as when I stayed at the Old Post Cottage. The property is situated in the ancient old village of Lillingstone Lovell and is complete with a 11th century church. Thatched rooftops with livestock and horses milling about add to a story book feel. The host Jennifer is a well educated hard working country townie who is always ready to answer questions or help out with local pub owners for dinner options. The rooms were clean and have big windows for viewing the grounds and they open up for fresh country air.....you can almost pet the horses out the bathroom widow, very cool. If you are a Formula One fan the Silverstone track is a short car distance or it is best to ride a bicycle and avoid the traffic and you will be there in twenty min. or walk which would take about 45 min. Breakfeast was cooked to order every morning by our host and was classic British with eggs and sausage, yummy. If you want to stay in a movie like setting in England this is your place.

Tucked away in the countryside in a cul-de-sac, this lovely, quirky house and gardens, with ample off-road parking, was our base for the Silverstone Classic weekend 26-28 July 2019. Our hostess, Jennifer Metcalf, greeted my wife and I and our two friends with tea & biscuits on arrival and made us feel completely at home. Our en-suite room was spacious, the bed large and comfortable, and the full-English breakfast cooked fresh every morning. By the time we left, we felt more like house guests than paying customers. Any niggles? Only one. We'd like to see net curtains as well as blinds and full curtains in the bedroom, to keep out flying insects and let in the light.

Just returned from our 2nd stay at the old Post Cottage. We went for Grand Prix weekend, the Bed and breakfast is about 2.5 miles from the track and in a really quiet village. Nearest pub is Bull and butcher in Akeley (2.5 miles), good for food although it is best to book, there is also the Fox and Hounds in Whittlebury but this gets really busy as it is near to the track and campsites.|| Hospitality at The Old Post Cottage is great Jennie is an excellent host and even lent me a pair of wellies for the weekend, as it was rain, rain and more rain this weekend, and the whole track was full of mud. Jennie even dropped us off near the track to save us trying to get our cars out of a muddy field. We stayed a standard double room with a shared bathroom which was nicely furnished and more than adequate for our stay.||Breakfast is really good and there is a good selection on offer to suit everyone.||Thanks again Jennie will be back!

We had a very warm welcome from Jennifer and Rufus! This lovely Old Post Cottage, is situated at the end of a lovely country lane, next to a farm. The countryside around it is charming, with lots of very old Weeping Willow trees! We arrived after a very busy journey and were welcomed by Jennifer, into her beautiful Cottage garden for Tea & Biscuits. We had a first floor room at the front right hand side of the cottage, with a very comfortable double bed, TV, free WIFI and a refreshments tray. There was an en-suite shower room, with a Cubicle & Power Shower, a Toilet & Basin. Jennifer had left us with lovely toiletries and soft towels, it was all perfect for us!
The breakfasts were fantastic, though I do not eat cooked breakfast, Ray did and he said it was wonderful! I stuck to making my own Muesli up, with fresh fruit and dried fruit and seeds. There was Fruit Juice, Coffee & Tea, different cereals, yogurts and The Full English, with egg of you choice. Jennifer was very accommodating with her Breakfast times and even had breakfast ready at 6am, on Grand Prix day! We were encouraged to sit outside with our wine, in the evening and join in conversation with the other, very pleasant guests! Then there was Rufus, he is the most gorgeous dog and he liked to know everybody & everything that was going on, such a Sweetie! I can throughly recommend this Fabulous B&B and we will be staying there again, next July (2018).
Thank you Jennifer & Rufus for such a lovely stay and Jennifer's recommendation of The Lion at Wicken, for a lovely Family run pub, with Home Cooked food, excellent service and really affordable prices!
SORRY ABOUT THE PHOTOS, THERE SOULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF EACH, PERHAPS GOGGLE WILL DELETE THEM, AS I CANNOT?
