Cons
Unfortunately not doing breakfasts anymore, even though all the signage in the rooms says otherwise. The place was quite rundown, and the TV didn't work in my room. I think it has changed hands since previous good reviews. Seems to be more set up for permanent lodgers. Also that weird English ensuite thing where the shower is actually located in your room. Unfortunately the shower head was broken, so was only able to shower by holding the shower head.
Pros
Was conveniently located. It was clean. Service was polite, though reluctant.

I stayed one night here at this guest house in crawley as I was departing from Gatwick the next morning. The room was clean and well presented with the facilities you would expect from a well known hotel chain. ||Full English Breakfast is an option at ÂŖ5 was well worth the money and set me up for the journey ahead.||As an added bonus the room rate included a weeks car parking...||Only minor down side is that it is located slightly out of the way, which is a bonus for a quiet night , ||to get from guest house to gatwick is easy....taxi can be arranged from the guest house, or 10 - 15 minutes walk to crawley station for the 8 minute hop to gatwick, or if you dont like the train there is a regular bus sevice from crawley to the airport.

We totally agree with reviews posted by others. The rooms were shabby - if a refurbishmnet has been recently carried out (as per guesthouse's website) we dread to think what they were like before. The shelf in the bathroom made it practically impossible to use the basin for anything other than washing your hands. The bathroom was cramped and there was no bin in it. When booking our accommodation we were led to believe the price included breakfast but on arrival discovered it did not, making this an extremely expensive place for what you get and we can find nothing about it to recommend.

The room and bathroom were very small and simple but clean. The bed was old and excessively soft, ditto the pillows. The very tiny basin in the bathroom is under a glass shelf which are sufficiently close together that shaving required a masters degree in body contortion. I struggled with the 'free wifi' - the signal was that weak I couldn't at first find it, then it kept dropping. Breakfast was a simple English - not nearly good enough for the ÂŖ5 charged. I am not sure there was actually any meat in the sausages. About a 15 minute walk to the centre of Crawley for restaurants. ||||I would have been happier to pay ÂŖ30 per night for bed and breakfast than the ÂŖ50 per night I was charged.

I've lived here for two weeks in 2005. Checked in directly after a 15 hour journey which included two flights. The landlady back then was very helpful and made me something from the kitchen even after it was closed. The rooms are small, but the hosts are very gracious.

Rooms basically clean but poor quality. Batthroom door would not lock. House again basically clean, very basic but untidy. Very poor choice for breakfast. The guest house might be aimed at tradesman but having stayed in a lot of B&B's this one just doesn't cut it. Would definitely not stay there again.

Found this to be one of the cheapest hotels in Crawley, stopped here overnight for business. The owners were very friendly and helpful, can't thank them enough for their help.||||I stopped in Room 3, quite small but again get what you pay for. Hotel boasts Freeview TV, Shower, Free Wi-Fi & more than ample storage for clothes etc. The eating room where breakfast was the only downside, could do with a facelift.||||Overall, 4/5 from myself.
