Perfect for the two of us, very quiet and comfortable. Friendly hosts and space to park offroad. Perfect place for us to visit family and the local.

I cannot recommend the Old Smithy enough! The house is beautiful and overlooking a village green in a truely idyllic and peaceful location. The family room is simply delightful, with a small seperate bedroom off of it with a single bed and the bathroom is lovely too. The beds are super comfy and there are so many snacks and goodies in the room, from wine and posh biscuits and sweets for the kids to baskets of toiletries and spare reading glasses, should you forget!! Everything has been thought of, and there is a most extensive range of breakfast goodies, and lovely Sarah even went to the trouble of getting in my sons favourite breakfast food! Nothing is too much trouble for Sarah and Andy, who are such warm and friendly hosts, and they really spoilt my son Jack! Big thank you for a wonderful stay!

Fabulous B&B, I can’t recommend it highly enough! Sarah, our hostess, was warm, friendly and amusing. The Old Smithy is a lovely house in a quiet part of Knaresborough called Scriven. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable with lots of quirky and amusing items around. You are provided with water,wine, crisps, chocolate, tea and coffee to use as you please. The breakfast was pretty much whatever you wanted and all cooked beautifully, we even had a personalised good morning greeting on our toast, see picture. Excellent value for money.

Fantastic communication prior to visit. As a family of coeliacs we were asked what we needed.
Fantastic room, as a family of 4, youngest slept on a pull out bed which was as comfy as the other beds.
Well catered for at breakfast despite our dietary requirements.
Nothing was too much trouble for the host!!! Will definitely return again

Lovely B and B in a very charming part of Knaresborough, such a beautiful spot.||Sarah is a warm and friendly host and we had everything we needed and more.||The room was very clean and cosy, there was plenty of tea, coffee, bottles of water, wine, crisps, sweeties, biscuits, toiletries and lots more. Thank you Sarah||||Being a coeliac I was especially happy that Sarah provided me with gluten free cereal (of my choice), gluten free bread, biscuits and treats.||||I would highly recommend.

As other people have mentioned, there are many free treats on offer but we were particularly pleased that Sarah went even further to make sure there were wheat/gluten free options as well (including our favourite fruit bars). We enjoyed the wine while watching Netflix! Breakfast was huge and varied including fresh fruit and and a great selection of preserves. Again, we really appreciated the wheat/gluten free items that meant we could both enjoy a full English (or should that be a full Yorkshire?). We felt very well looked after.

Sarah was a most welcoming hostess. Our stay was above and beyond normal expectations. We were made very welcome with lots of lovely personal touches, such as our names imprinted in the toast and Ella having her name on her dog bowl. |A very comfortable room with everything to make your stay relaxing and ensure a great nights sleep. I have never seen such a range of tea, coffee and biscuits offered.|We were given a beautifully cooked breakfast in the morning, no congealed baked beans or cold mushrooms here! Extras included 'dog and bone ' shaped melon pieces and more fresh fruit in the morning to make you smile.|We stayed for 3 nights and were given great suggestions of where to walk and visit. An easy to find yet quiet place besides a picture book village green. Plenty to do in Knaresborough and surrounding area, a real find. Thank you Sarah and Andy|

Excellent accommodation and very well appointed. Not been to a b&b which had so many thoughtful touches. Clearly higher than average planning went into the provision of the b&b. Very good value and quality.
Sarah was very welcoming and made our brief stay a great experience.
