This is a gem of a place, a beautiful building in a charming English village in the beautiful county of Shropshire. The host, Phillip, is a lovely gentleman who is exactly the type of host that such a lovely place needs and deserves. The room we had was large, clean and comfortable with loads of old world features and was soooo quiet that our night's sleep in the large, comfortable bed was peaceful and undisturbed. To cap it all off, the breakfast was fit for a King. We would definitely recommend the Old Vicarage to anyone who likes tranquillity and gorgeous countryside right on the doorstep of one of the best towns in the UK, Shrewsbury.

Enjoyed one night at this lovely establishment as we were attending a wedding nearby. Comfortable, clean, spacious room with bathroom. Kettle and fridge in the room. Beautiful surroundings. Our host Philip made us feel very welcome. He cooked a delicious breakfast the next morning. We ate it in the conservatory overlooking the garden. Philip offered to take us to and from the wedding as it was local. Would definitely recommend The Old Vicarage. Note there’s also an Old Rectory in the village which caused us some confusion but The Old Vicarage is easy enough to find with plenty of parking outside.

Philip is the host with the most. We were warmly welcomed with a cheery, ‘make yourself at home’. So easy to do in this very comfortable accommodation, in a beautiful setting. Very good breakfast. Philip went above and beyond our expectations, ensuring we had a very memorable stay.
We highly recommend and look forward to returning.

I stayed at The Old Vicarage for 4 nights in August. I was made incredibly welcome and Philip was a brilliant host. The house was clean and breakfast made to order from locally sourced foods. The room was just right with a beautiful view over the garden and a private bathroom. The garden was stunning and you are welcome to sit in it and relax. I can't rate the Old Vicarage highly enough and am hoping to return next year.

A beautiful building set in a well looked after, pretty garden (perfect to sit out in to grab a bit of late afternoon sunshine!) The location is really peaceful, the room was very comfortable, warm & cosy with a large ensuite (a nice touch was 2 fluffy white bathrobes). Phil is a wonderful host, a proper gent, nothing is too much trouble & he made us feel so very welcome in his home. We enjoyed 2 wonderful, homecooked breakfasts in the stunning conservatory listening to the birdsong & sat by the roaring fire, we loved the relaxed atmosphere in the mornings! We will both be recommending a stay here to our friends & family!

Gorgeous property with a beautiful garden. Philip is a wonderful host and interesting to chat to. Had the single room which was bright and clean and had a reclining armchair ! The bed was comfy - fabulous breakfast. Very quiet surroundings ideal for a relaxing stay.

Stayed for 3 nights in May. Lovely Old House with a beautiful garden, in a really quiet location. The double room with ensuite was large, clean, comfortable and full of character. The owner Philip is a great host. He does an excellent breakfast and was really accomodating. Would definitely return when back in the area. Thanks for a great stay.

Stay here for 1 night, but wished we had booked for a 2nd night, beautiful place, very comfortable bed all you need for a perfect stay. Philip is a super host, very freindly and relaxed making your stay most comfortable, lovely breakfast again all very unrushed adding to an enjoyable stay, could not fault anything, would we stay here again a massive absolutely.
